Lucknow *km., who indicated their op position to the settlement as presented by the chairman Trustees By Wilma Oke A 1980-81 contract that gives teachers an 8.7-,per cent salary, increase was ratified "by the Huron- Perth County Catholic --ochooj—board_and ,its• 55 teachers last week. • Terms of settlement give the teachers an annual increase of 8,7 per cent. With annual ex- perience increments and responsibility allowan- ces, increased cost to the board will be 10.3 per gent for a total of $3,000,535. The annual average salaries improve from $20,631 to $22,745 for the contract year, 1980-81. The new salary grid ranges from $12,325 for level D teachers with no experience to $31,465 for teachers having attained level A4 and 12 years experience. Qualifications Evaluation Council of Ontario (QECO) Program III is being used to determine teacher Summer wedding level placement com- mencing $eptember 1, 1980. • The school , board and teachers a had been negotiating since ' late ,Tanuary_and reached_ a_ tentative agreement last Thursday. Teachers ratified the .contract Wednesday afternoon and the board Wednesday 'night (September 17). Truestee David Stratford, was chief negotiator for the board and Ed Cappelli, Stratford, for the teachers. Board chairman Ronald Marcy com mended the committee for the excellent job and , for the manner in which trustee O'Reilly presented the schedule to the board. This presentation was made in closed session with only a brief discussion following it. The bride , chose a gown of polyester with long sleevei; lace yoke and collar. Match- ing lace accented the detach- able train. She wore a three tier veil and carried a bouqu- et of red rose's, daisies and baby's breath. Linda Hendriks of Kincar- dine was her sister's maid of honour, wearing a floral-blue gown with matching cape. She carried yelloW roses. Patricia Tully, London, sis- ter of the groom, assisted as bridesmaid. Her dress was similar to the maid of hon- our's and she carried yellow roses. The flower girl, Lisa Rieg- ling, Whitelaw, Alberta, wore a long dress styled similar to the bride's with short sleeves, lace yoke and. collar and matching lace on_ the train. Rick Knight, Sarnia, was groomsman and Peter Hend- tits, R. 7 Lucknow, ushered guests. Mark. Reigling, WhitelaW,, , Alberta, carried the rings. The groom and his attend ants wore royal blue tuxedos. The mother of the bride received guests at the Luck- now Community Centre wearing a floral light blue sheer goWn with yellow rose corsage. She was assisted by the mother of the groom who wore-a-white -pleated- gowtv-- with black design and a cor- sage of yellow roses. The bride changed to a white polyester dress :with pink rose design and a corsage of red roses for travelling. -The couple travelled to Northern Ontario and since their return have been resid- ing in Gravenhurst, Guests attended the wed- ding from Grand Prairie and Whitelaw; Alberta, Ganan- oque, Elmvale, Toronto, Lon- don, Sarnia, Minneapolis, Minnesota, Lucknow and the surrounding vicinity. Prior to her marriage the bride Was feted at a. com- munity shower at St. Jos- eph's, Church, Kingsbridge arranged by Ann Riegling and Mary Ann Miltenburg. A stag and doe honoured the couple at the Dungannon Hall, arranged by the bride's brother, Henry.
