cles are designed to impress upon the residents of Goderich the
obligation which they owe to the t'otnluunit,v-to purchase their
needs from local merchants. a duty which they owe, not only
to themselves, but also to every organization in the town.
The Signal .is an advocate of community buying because it
believes thdt in the principle of buying at home and support-
ing home indii•tries+ depends, the suttees* and advancement of
this town. To a great extent the merchant is responsible for
the position which the community holds today. Through his
efforts our schools:, churches and public in-titutions have been
established and are maintained. He has shown his confidence
in the town and in you by establishing himself in business
here, assuming the greater burden of taxation and M- lenity
