Phone 887-9487 Reunions, parties bring people together Mr. and Mrs. Bert Johnston attended the Forrest Reunion at the Sloman Park in Clinton. Those in attendance were from Birch Run, Frankenmouth Michigan and Truro, Nova Scotia. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Armstrong of Thorndale visited last week with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Grasby. Mr. and Mrs. Maitland Edgar of Petrolia attended the Edgar re­ union on Sunday, July 10 at the Belmore Community Centre. Jeremy Campbell, son of John and Linda Campbell, held a school is out party at his home June 24. Attending were some of his classmates from the village: Ken­ dra Folkard, Shannon Cook, Mi­ chelle Pletch, Becky Buchannon, Julie Snow, Sarah Cowan, Luke Lockridge, DavidPiluke, Jamie McCallum, Michael Marks, Ryan Cook and Jeremy’s brother Justin. The children had lunch and afterwards had outside activities ending up with a ball game. Justin Campbell, son of Linda and John Campbell celebrated his fifth birthday June 29. With him were: Carleigh Galbraith, Jessica Lockridge, Harmony Spivey, Tania Pletch, Matthew Snow, Luke Lock­ ridge, Craig Folkard, Scott Folk­ ard, Justin’s brother Jeremy, Adam Potter, who was also 5 on that day and Travis Campbell who was 5, June 24. The children enjoyed a barbeque after which games were played outside. Mrs. Olive (Grandma) Campbell came over the same evening and enjoyed the barbecue supper. Barbara Coultes and Faye Frith of Toronto spent the holiday weekend with Mrs. Janisa Coultes. Mr. and Mrs. George Procter, Kate and Jennifer returned home Saturday, July 2 from a trip to the East Coast. While there they visited with friends in Nova Scotia. Mrs. Walter Scott returned home recently after spending a month with her brother W. T. Shackleton at Rainbow Valley Ranch, Caledon. Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Wightman attended the graduation of their twin granddaughters Marie and Marsha Metcalfe, daughters of Don and Phillis Metcalfe of Hanover. The graduation took place at the Woodstock Campus. Student nurses Pinning-on Cere­ mony was held in Knox Presbyter­ ian Church followed by dinner and dance in Oxford Auditorium. Mrs. Elizabeth Procter of Bel- 57th Procter reunion held at Belgrave school The 57th annual Procter reunion was held Sunday, July 10 at the East Wawanosh Public School with 76 in attendance. During the afternoon the children enjoyed games while the adults visited. A business meeting conducted by the President Arnold Spivey was held which was followed by a short sing-song. A barbecue and delicious supper were enjoyed by all. Executive for the- following year is: President, Charles Proc­ ter; Vice-President, Doug Procter; Secretary-Treasurer, Lila Procter; Lunch Committee, Laurie Procter, Mary Thomas, Edna Stephens and Brenda and Chuck Selby, Tony and Louis Maio. .1 grave visited on the holiday weekend with Marjorie Procter and Philip Stopforth of London. They all attended the Royal Canadian Big Band Festival and the fireworks and also visited other places. Marjorie Procter of London visited with her mother Mrs. Elizabeth Procter and they attend­ ed the Procter reunion in East Wawanosh Public School Sunday, July 10. Mr. and Mrs. Oron Sockett of Vancouver visited at the home of George Sockett for a few days last week. On Saturday, July 9 they attended a family reunion at Orangeville. Fifty members were presentfrom theToronto, God­ erich and Owen Sound areas. The 39th Edgar reunion was held Sunday, July 10 at the Belmore Community Centre with 25 mem­ bers present. Mrs. William Henderson of Lucknowassistedby Mrs. Alvin Mundell of Gorrie of the sports committee provided games for bothyoungand old. A contest of old photos of the older Edgar relatives was won by Mrs. Elva Jacques of Gorrie. Rev. William Henderson of Lucknow said Grace and all enjoyed a smorgasbord meal. Following the meal the president, Rev. Henderson, conducted the business period. Secretary- Treasurer Mrs. George Gibson of Wingham read the minutes of the last reunion. The reunion for next year will be held at the Belmore Community Centre the second Sunday in July. A two-minute silence was ob­ served for the members of the group who had passed on since the last reunion. Officers for 1989 are - President, Rev. William Henderson; Vice- President, Mrs. Harvey Edgar; Sports, Mrs. Edward Daer; Relatives attending were from: Mississauga, Petrolia, Goderich, Lucknow, Teeswater, Gorrie, Bly th, Wingham and Belgrave.
