Farewell Party . For
Mrs. •Wm. 110yd •
Relatives of Mrs. William Lloyd
gathered at her apartment in
London on Monday afternoon for a
farewell party and dinner before
she leaves London to take up
residence at Burlington later this
month, An address of good wishes
was read' and she' was presented
with a set of dishes for which she
expressed her deepest apprecia-
tion. Following is the address:
London, November 22, 1976
Dear. Pearl,
Ever since you said you were
taking off to live at Burlington,
We've wanted to come and
surprise you
And enjoy an evening's fun,
You will be very ' happy , with 3
grandchildren and Jean. and Ivan
And we bet you've scratched your
. head a lot, .
While the move you were deciding.
Wouldn't Maurice and Vera have
been down in the mouth
If that heavy snowfall• had scared
them to the south?
And Mary Boyle off bussing to
Elmira and then the Royal,
Winter Fair,
But Ruth couldn't go to join the
. gals
For she might fall down the' stairs.
And Jack Scott he's up at dawn
each morn
Calling on the farmer's to sell
Stewart's corn,
And Mary Scott she's so busy with
meetings, Institute and bringing
, home eggs. '
She's often has to hiri the couch,
. she can't keep on her legs.
And Edna said' "I hope the day will
be clear skied and fair,
Or, I'd feel better right at home in
• my own rocking chair.
Now I.may have missed some dear
ones,
Who are as happy, just like me,
To join in a family party and have a
jamboree.
By now, I'm sure you have guessed
the poet, •
But we are glad to be here and our • faces show it.
This little gift Pearl is for you to
take to your new hornet
And we're planning on journeying
to 'Burlington.
You say the' word, 'and we'll come,
But pleae wait until the Spring
'with all' its fond expectations,.
For should , we go now `and get
storm stayed .
You'd have us for the duration.
But on 'a special occasion like this,
We , really couldn't miss. .
To wish 'you health, comfort and
happiness
From every one of us.
The whole gang, with love.
