FINETREE. CRESTENETS Well a person can push some- thing aside for only so long, even if it is a thing .you are almost afraid of. There comes a time when as my old grandad would say "Ye will do it or do it later," So girls I will do my best. • For the last month there is a class being held. here for all those wishing. to take it. It is a , health care aide course, and will require a lot of concentration, and study for all those taking.. it, for there are frequent tests and the girls are working during the course. Forty there are, and it will last for something like a year. So when this 'is over they will be able to tell us how often we should clean our nose, and if we kept our ears clean we could hear better. I said I was afraid to start. You see they may find out too much about me. I have all those years behind me and I can not truthfully say that I have fully understood one single woman yet. Yes girls you ,* puzzle me-some with such brilliant talent, others with talent, others with talent for something else outside of nursing. After making that statement' I had better make it ,perfectly clear that Mame and I could not have received better care" anywhere in Canada, and I believe in saying that. I am speaking the feelings of every single patient in this special place. I had a very strong inclination to write about each one of you individuals as I watched you at work each day. In fact I started to do it and then got "chicken" and then made sure all of it went in the wastepaper basket. So you will have to be a group of the finest, mostly young women, that we here ever hope to have the privilege of taking care of us. Just a. little example: I have knovn girls that will work a lot- harder during their shift so that they would be able to take a little time, and some of their own time, to enable them to talk to, and in so doing encourage a Purdons, Bring ymir garment to next meeting to practise judging. Also we practised for the Fashion Show. The discuSsion centred on plans for Achievement Day and individual activities for the day. The meeting closed with the 4-H creed repeated , in unison. The 4-H leaders, Mrs. Walter Elliott and Mrs. Archie Purdon, have been given two days at the Royal' Winter Fair and stay over night at the Lord Simcoe Hotel, Toronto. Walter Elliott and Archke Purdon are going, to accompany their Wives to the Fair. OLIVET Girls from this area attended the 4-H' Achievement Day, which was held on Saturday in . the Ripley Community Centre. 'The project was "Clothes For Leisure". The leaders are Mrs. Ray Hamilton and Mrs. Ken Elphick. Mrs. Hamilton received her 10 year Leadership Award. Visitingon Friday evening 'with Mr. and Mrs. Ron McGuire and Christopher were Mary Anne i Coiling and Danny Boyd, Rick 1 Smith and Joan Johnston. Mr. and Mrs. Jack McGuire along with other employees of G&E Sales and Service, Lucknow, spent a very enjoyable evening on Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Priestap and Family in their new honie in Lucknow. certain person out of themself, and give them a new outlook on. life. A girl that will do this kind of thing is not just doing a job so that she will collect a pay cheque. We have, those kind of girls, in the. group. We have others who are just as capable, kind and well meaning, but lack that one little word "compassion". There is also the very great possibility that a number of us here get so badly 'vrapped up in ourselves that we hinder, instead of ' help, those who are trying to help us, in, a number of selfish ways. I have tried 'to write thiS as fairly as I could.. I have 'no intention of being unkind to anyone or set anyone on a pedestal. You have all earned any praise I am capable of giving you. And now taking the time for attendance and the' amount of study involved, proves your sincerity of what perhaps meant when he said "If you know how you will always have a job, but the one that knows why will always be 'the boss". So you see we still have THE BESTat Pinecrest Manor. Respectfully submitted, C. Aubrey Higgins.
