Given in marriage by her parents
the bride looked radiant in a
princess styled gown of mow white
polyester crepe with rose pattern
detailed throughout... The wrist
length sleeves were closed with
dainty pearl buttons. The, high
mandrin collar, the bib effect front
and the high midriff were covered

Former Minister
Attended Service
On Sunday, a former 'minister,
Dr, Wm. 0 Rhoad and Mrs. Rhoad
of Alexandria, Va., who celebrated
their 45th wedding anniversary,
attended the, church service at
Ashfield Presbyterian Church.
Also attending was their family,
Priscilla and ' family, Becky and
family. and Bill Rhoad of Alexand-
ria, Va, and• Rev. John C. and Mrs.
Rhoad and family of Kitchener.
A number of former members
also attended the service.
• The Rev., Hugh L. Nugent B.A.,
B.D., 'preached his first service at'
Ashfield. Following the service the •
ladies of the church served lunch
and a social time was spent,

Maid .of honour was the bride's
sister Kerry. Hodgms. Bridesmaids.
were Mrs. Lorraine •Foxton, friend
of, the bride, and Mrs. 'Mary Ann
Stacey, sister of the groom.. The
attendents all wore identically
styled gowns of rust, jersey. knit.
The gowns. were A-line style with
shoestring straps, a keyhole effect
at back of the dress and were
topped with, small high, . necked
capes in rust. They carried arm
bouquets of bronie mums, .yellow
daisies and white carnations ac-
cented by a little baby's breath and
ivy. The bouquets were tied with
wide yellow velvet ribbon. •
' Best man was Malcolm MacLeod
Ushers were' Randy. Fotton and
Ken Skinn all friends of the groom.
They all wore camel coloured
jackets with dark brown velvet
trim, and dark brown pants, The
groom wore matching camel pants
with dark brown velvet trim. They
Wore boutionnieres of carnations
edged with ivy.
Mrs., Wayne Armstrong Of
Ripley played the organ during the
ceremony and while the register
was being signed, she played
We've Only Just Begun,'.
The bride's mother wore a long ,two
piece jacket dress of sheer polyes
ter with yellow floral .pattern, with
a black underlay and black
accessories. Her corsage was 'a
delicate yellow orchid.
The groom's mother wore a long
sheer three tiered dress of mauve
and pink polyester, with white
underlay. Her accessories were in
gold and she wore pink sweetheart
roses as her corsage.
A reception of family and friends
Was held at the Wingham Legion
Hall with music by the Moran
Brothers. Master of ceremonies '
was Donald MacLay, friend of the
bride's family.
Guests were present from Brant-
ford, Paris, St. George. Port Elgin,
Wheatley. Toronto, Woodstock,
Mildmay, Teeswatere Wingham,
Wiarton, Lucknow, and Ripley.
Honoured guests were Mr. and
Mrs. Calvin Smith, Aunt and Uncle
of the bride and Mr. Walter
Needham, formerly of - Ripley, a
very dear friend of the Hodgins
St. Paul's Anglican Church,
Ripley, was the setting of the
beautiful wedding uniting 'Mavis
Ann Frances Hodgins and David
Clark Stokes.
The church pews were decorated
with yellow bows and white daisies:
• The front of the church was
enhanced in the • setting of can-,
delabras, arrangements of bronze
mums, yellow daisies and white
carnations accented with baby's
breath and ivy, candles of copper
and yellow were, alternated
throughout.
The • wedding took place on,
Saturday. October the ninth at
seven o'clock in the evening.

Falls the bride chose a two piece
pant outfit of forest green with
co-ordinating striped turtleneck
-and a yellow rose corsage.
The couple now reside at R.R.3
Wingham.
Prior to the wedding the bride
was honoured at a shower given
by Janice and Kerry Hodgins and
Helen Moore held a friend's
shower in Ripley. Lorraine Foxton
hosted a friend's shower in her
honk in Wingham. The bride was
honoured by a community shower
in Ripley.
