lancers Win 5•3
On Sunday •
Friday, November . 19th, in
Clinton; "the Luoknow Lancers lost
out on a 7 to 4 score, Sorry! We
have no particulars on this one, °
Mitchell visited Lucknow Sunday
'November 21st and again took
home the victory., They got a 2 goal
margin 'in the first period. The
Lancers were short two players on'
one and Mitchell was short-handed •
for the other.
The second period was both
scoreless and penalty filed.
Mitchell came back with two
quick ones in the third. • The
Lancers, who had out-played and
out-shot Mitchell, didn't give up
easily and effects of a lot of
peppering on a sharp goalie paid
off for Lucknow, when Jim Murray
got on the board, unassisted at the
5 minute mark. Mitchell came
right back for their 5th. The next
three were well earned by. the
Lancers. Doug Stevenson 'scored
from • Phil Paquette, then Dave
MacKinnon from John Emberlin
and Jim, followed by Jim, again
from Dave. With the score now 5 to
4, the Lancers kept the pressure on
looking for the equalizer but the
break went to Mitchell and it ended
up ''6 to .4. Only 2 penalties were
called in the third period, znaking it
a real good period of hockey..
Friday November 26th, the
Lancers met Milverton in Listowel
and got the worst trouncing they
hope to get all year. The score
13 to 0.
Milverton came back to Lucknow
Sunday, November 28th and found
the Lancers less sociable when they
beat them 5 to '3 in a battle to
the last whistle. Both teams tried
to get on the board but Phil
Paquette got NO. 1 at -12:47 from
Carl Stanley. The next goal was a
`first' for hockey in-Lucknow. The
referee indicated a delayed penalty
for Lucknow so Milverton pulled
their goalie. While organizing the
attack, somehow the puck And
gracefully into the Milverton, net
and 'Donald Mann got credit for.
Lancer goal. Milverton scored with
Lucknow short-handed only to have
Mike Courtney come back seconds
later to score from Carl Stanley and

Phil Paquette.. Milverton scored
again before the period ended. ,
The second period was 'almost a
goalies' contest with both teams
giving• -their best. • " The Lancers
scored the lone goal coming from
John MacKenzie, , assisted . by
Graham Hamilton.
Milverton' scored early in the
third period and with tension
mounting, contact was close and
the penalty box overworked. The
Lancers put it away when Phil
Paquette scored with less than 3
minutes to' play. Assist went to
Carl Stanley and Graham
Hamilton.
The fast , skating Lancers had
again beaten Milverton by a 5 to 3
score. A good turn-out • was well
entertained.
Ripley Juveniles
Tie and Win
Ken MacKay, on a pass, from
Chris McGievey, started the ball
rolling for Ripley Juveniles in the
first period in Listowel Saturday
night. Brian Coiling and Robert ,

past the Listowel B goalie on a pass
from Larry .Farrell and• Mike
Pollock. Listowel had scored once.

goal, Mike Pollock from Larry
Farrell and Ken Ma8kay. Mike
Gallant took a pass from Brian
Coiling and Robert Regier and
Listowel B's scored once to .make
the final tally S-5. We had several'
close chances to score in the dying
minutes of the game, but just
couldn't seem to make the puck go,
In Sunday's home 'game against
Kincardine, the final score /was
14-7. • Captain John Elliott led the
scoring with 4 goals and 4 assists.
