Registration start- ed at 11.30 and then all sat 'down to an buffet luncheon prepared by the host society. Rev. George Wrighti conducted the devotional period. Jim MacDonald weldomed all on behalf of the town. Four local ladies provided some enjoyable entertainment. Gordon Scott and Lloyd Harris 'were appointed as auditors. Comments were given by Mrs.. Florence Arnold, Lady representa- tive and Revis McKay. Mrs. Arnold attended 17 fairs last fall and had reports in from 22 out of 25. She fOund the baking and sewing: were above average in most cases and a good showing' of flowers and fruit. She thought the Junior work was impr6ving and urged all , to keep up 'the good fair work. Mr. McKay attended 19 faii's and said it was nice to see fair boards working so hard and getting along. It was a nice day Wednesday and there were 146 in, attendance with .22' out of 26 societies being represented. He also was impressed with the 4-H work. He told the dates for the 1977, convention being held in. Toronto on February 16th and 17th. Mary. Matthews, dairy princess, spoke briefly 'on her duties for the coming year, and told what duties she has already done. Stan Middleton, administrator of. Louise Marshall Hospital, Mount Forest was the guest speaker. He left us with some thought about Health Servieesand tried to answer some questions from the floor. The ladies; and men divided for separate meetings. Mrs. Arnold presided fot the ladies. The roll call was "Bring or till about a new or different craft or exhibit at your fair and describe briefly". This was well responded'to and many worthwhile ideas were given. Mrs. Pat MacLean conducted a panel discussion which was com- posed of 4 judges. They tried to tell how to overcome some • small problems that occurred at several faits. Mrs. Stephens conducted the election of officers and all offices, were filled by acclamation. Clarence Lange reported for the men's division and stated Drs. Lawless and Fisk from Harriston, spoke on brucelois in cattle. Other speakers were Grant Sweig- er, Walkerton. All offices in the men's division were also filled by acclamation. Arran Tara invited all 'for the Spring meeting to be held the last of May or first week Calendar advertising w approved.
