Nine Girls Become
C G.I.T. Members
On Monday, the Lucknow Can-
adian Girls ,In Training group,
welcomed nine new members,
Bonnie Purves, Elizabeth Black;
Brenda Henderson, Shirley Loree,
Judy Hunter, Peggy Gibson, Barb-
ara Maize, Lila Purves and Sandy
Brooks. Everyone joined in a sing
song led by guitarist Laurie Clarke:
The" mothers of the new mem-
bers were present for the , service
i and were welcomed by president
Barbara Loree. Each girl introduc-
ed here mother.
The new members did a skit
about ptoblems of growing up. The
senior girls told them about the
C.G.L T. program and/how it helps
girls find some of the answers.
Everyone joined in the C.G.I.T.
purpose, verse, song and hymn.
New members were presented with
their pins by Barbara Loree and
Irene Reitknecht presented. ra
bership cards to each girl.
Leaders Mrs. Shirley Colwell,
Elizabeth Ritchie, Nancy Ritchie
and Mrs., Laura Lee Cayley were
introduced. The new middy, the '
foster child and the fold-out study
were explained. The meeting
closed with taps.
1st Holyrood
Girl Guides
The 1st Holyrood Girl Guides
dressed as Hallowe'en spooks,
visited the Pinecrest Manor on
Sunday, October 31st.
They sang, had a skit, poems and
served tea and cookies. This year
the elders had a 'Hallowe'en too.

was treated for abrasions and
contusions to his face and back and

Hospital. Ontario Provincial Police
Constable Andy Burgess investig-

day, Morley Shepherd' of Stratford
fell off a motor bike on the 2nd
concession of Huron Township,
suffering a fractured right clairicle.
He was treated at Winglign
Hospital and released. •

Collegiate, Institute, was one of six
under graduate students elected on
a campus at large basis to the
senate of Western University
during the past week. Mike is in
his fourth year history at Western.

Tony. Johnston of Lucknow, a
member of The Sentinel staff, was
admitted to hospital, in Wingham
on Sunday. His absence from work
on the paper is keenly missed and it
is hoped Tony will soon be feeling
well and back on the job.,
