The bride is, the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Martin Hendriks, R. R. 7
Lucknow. The groom is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Menary of R.
R, 7 Lucknow.
Father Ed Dentinger officiated at
the double ring ceremony. Denise
Dalton was organist and Marie
Boyle was, soloist.
Given in marriage by her father
the bride chOse a white polyester
satin gown withstand-up collar and
empire , waist and a , floor-length
veil.. She carried a bouquet of
yellow roses and small white,
carnations.
Maid of .honour was Betty
Hendriks, sister of the bride. She
wore a gown of peach and yellow
floral polyester and carried a lace
basket of yellow, roses and white
daisies.
Bridesmaids 'were Janet Tre-
warthi of London, niece of the
grocim, and Gerda Hendriks, sister.

corsage. The groom's mother
chose a blue floral floor-length
gown with a pink corsage.
Gordon Saunders was master of
ceremonies. Guests at the wedding
included the bride's grandmother,
Mrs. Van der Yen and aunt Mrs.
Lisa Vielin from Holland. After
their wedding trip to Northern
Ontario, the couple will reside at R:

several showers prior to ' her
marriage. - Ann Riegling was
hostess for a community shower at.
Kingsbridge; Nora Saunders was
hostess for a neighbour's 'shower
held at her home; Janet Trewartha
and Rena Menary were hostesses
at a relative shower at Brookside
School and also a shower was given
by the staff at *Maitland Manor
Nursing Home, where the bride is
employed.,

Trinettes was held on Wednesday,
October 27th at Mrs. Dora Alton's.
The president called the meeting to
order and six girls repeated the' 4-H
pledge. The • books are to be
handed' in on November 3rd and a
. work meeting will be held on
Novemb'er 11th at, Mrs.' Alton's.
Mrs.. Alton discussed Canadian
Pattern for Eating, Meal Manage-
ment and Foreign Type of Foods
for Canadian Meali.
We made' the Canadian• version
of enchiladas.
Snazzy Snoozers
The .seventh 'meeting of the
Kairshea Snazzy Snoozers was held
October 30 at 1.30 p.m. at the home
of Mrs. MacDougall. • Nancy
Haldenby opened the meeting with
the motto.--Cheryl Haldenby 'read
the minutes. The roll call was
answered by all members. . We
discussed plans for Achievement
Day and How to Judge. After this
we Worked on our exhibit and
book covers.
Special thanks to Mrs.' Dochnan
and Mrs. MacDougall who capably
led us through the course.
Sleeping Beauties
The seventh meeting of the
Clover Valley Sleeping Beauties
was held on Monday, October 25 at'
Joyce Elphick's. We opened the
meeting with the 4-H pledge. All
members answered the roll call:.
Barbara Carter read the minutes of
the, last meeting. The treasurer's
report was given by Donna Elphick.
She also passed out the pieces -of
bristol board for the 'covers. We
decided to have a work meeting on
Saturday, October 30. , This
meeting will be optional.
In discussion and group work, we.
discussed Achievement Day plans
as well as the individual activities
at . Achievenient Day..',Mrs.
Hamilton handed out a quiz for us
to do. We closed the meeting with
the Creed.

The October 'meeting ,of the
Holyrood Women's Institute was
held on Friday evening when
Institute members and their famil-
ies and friends enjoyed a bountiful
smorgasbord dinner. •
The president, Mrs. William
MacPherson, welcomed everyone
and Mrs. Jack Scott introduced the
guest speakers Mr. and Mrs. Paul
Greenwood. of Ripley, who gave a
most interesting talk and showed
pictures of the many countries that
they had Visited. 'Mrs. Marion
Harris thanked them and presented
them with a gift after which Toffee
and dessert was served.
The November .meeting will be
held on Thursday evening, Novem-
ber 4th in the hall when they will
entertain Ripley' and Kairshea
Institutes. Mrs. Sally Campeau of
.Viirgharn will be the guest speaker
with a paQe1 discussion on Alliance

Psalms" and an Indian version of
the 23rd Psalm followed by prayer
were given by Mrs. Allan MacDon7

Guest speakers Mr. and Mrs.
Clark Mills were introduced by
their daughter Mrs. Jim West. We
Were taken on a trip to Australia by
slides and a most informative talk
on their trip to mainly the Perth,
Australia area,, where Mi. and
MrS. Mills. were two years ago.
Everyone. enjoyed this very much.
Mrs. Henry MacKenzie thanked
Mr. and Mrs. Mills and presented
them with a token as appreciation.

service committee. was in charge 'of
the 'program with .Mrs. Clarence
Irwin, convener, as . leader. ..The
devotionals opened with a hymn
followed by prayer. Mrs. Lorne
Woods read the scripture found in
St. Mark 9: 33-37. "How Do You
Like Your Neighbours?" was the
title of the meditation presented by
Mrs. Vernon Hunter.
Mrs. Kenneth Cameron read two
poems, 'the descriptive "October
Splendour" and the comical "Trick
or Treat".. Two delightful piano
duet selections were plaYed by Kay
and. Karl Morrison. •
Mrs: Charles Anderson introduc.
ed Lall and Kanta Mehan, who ably
• answered the ladies' queries and
showed beautiful slides of India.
Mrs. Eldon Bradley thanked the •
speakers for their interesting
presentation to the U.C.W. The
offering was received by Mrs.
CharleS McDonald and Mrs. Eldon
Henderson and dedicated by Mrs.
John Kilpatrick. Mrs. Irwin closed
devotionals with prayer.
" Mrs. 'Glen Walden presided for
the business portion of the meeting
and a few annoyncements were
brought to the attention of the
ladies. Mrs. Gordon Morrison ,
social functions convener, reported
a net profit of $1300.00 from our
annual turkey supper. Thanks
was expressed to Mrs. Morrisbn,
her committee and• to all the
U.C.W. members for their help and
contributions.
Mrs. Walden closed with bene,
dictions. The ladies enjoyed a light
lunch and social time following the
meeting.
