Mr. and Sid Smith' Of
Ottawa were callers in Luclmow
one day last week. Sid' formerly
resided in this area coming as a boy,
in 1926 from England to the farms
of Jimmy Irwin and Dick Martin,
both of Kinloss, and in Ashfield,
with Ralph Nixon., He later joined
the air force in April 1939, retiring
in 1960 and was with the civil
service in Ottawa, retiring in 1974.

Mrs. John Kilpatrick of Lucknow
returned home after two weeks
visiting with her daughter and
son-in-law Mr. And Mrs. Basil
Halked and Diana and, Michael of
Ottawa.
Mrs. Ed Thom, a resident at
Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home,
Lucknow suffered a fractured hip in
a fall last Saturday night. She was
taken on Monday by ambulance to
Wingham arid District Hospital and
on Tuesday to St. Joseph's
Hospital, London where she was to
undergo surgery.
