About 1500 people gathered
under mainly sunny skies to take in
Dungannon Fair on. Friday.
Kingsbridge and Brookside Schools
participated in the parade on main
street from the United Church and
fund from accumulating, bursaries
were, granted.
All during this time, the fund,
was efficiently and effectively run

now.
Interment was in Greenhill
Cemetery.

MRS. SHARON PIKE
Mrs. Pike, received her early
education in Mississauga Schools
and attended Lakeshore Teachers'
College in 1969. /For four years she
was employed by the Etobicoke
Board of Education to teach grade
6. In 1974 Mrs. Pike and her
husband moved to Teeswater
where she taught grade 5 for two
years at Hillcrest Central School
She is currently taking extension,
courses from Sir Wilfred Laurier
University, This is Mrs. Pike's first
year, on the staff of Lucknow
Central School where she ..is
teaching grades' four and five.
CECIL de BOER
Cecil de' Boer, son of Mr. and
'Mrs. John de Boer of R. R. 5
Lucknow, graduated with' honours
in Electronic Engineering Technol-
ogy from Radio College of Canada,
Toronto.
Graduation ceremonies took
place on September 16 at the
Sheraton Centre, Toronto.
Cecil has accepted a position
with Sperry Univac Computer
Systems, Mississauga as a Custom-
er Engineer.

interesting conversation with First
Mama.
Pack 'Rat is Garry Koyle of Port
Elgin, formerly of Lucknow and son
of Mr. and Mrs. Sloss Koyle of
Lucknow.
First Mama is Mrs. Gerald
(Betty), Ford, Washington, D.C.,
wife of the president of the United
States. • • , •
Garry and Betty are both Citizen
Band radio hobbyistS and with
reception at its best this night in
early August, Garry had quite a
cdfiversation with' Mrs. Ford. At
that' time,, Garry 'was unaware of
the prominence of the lady he was
talking to, •and only, when the letter
arrived from the White House, did
he realize that it ; had been 'the
"first lady" of the United States.
Garry and his wife Carol are both
CB fans, Carol being known on the
air waves as Field Mouse.

The Alexander MacKenzie En-
dowment fund for the education of
boys attending Lucknow High
School has been bound up in red
tape for over fo,ur years and not one
dollar has passed to deserVing
students in that time.
The fund , Was established in
1941-48 at Lucknow High School
and 'was, administered by local men
acting as.trustees and carrying out
the wishes of the of the late
Alexander MacKenzie, Kinloss
Township bachelor farmer, who
died in 1942' at the age of 83.
A sizeable portion of the
MacKenzie estate was willed for
the use of male students of
Lucknow High School. The
trustees, fox many years, loaned
out the interest of the fund to
students seeking to, further their
education. The loans were intereSt.
free, and in earlier days, when
money was trot as readily available
as it is today, it meant ,'the
differenee.between "affording" or
"not affording" an education kir
many young men.
In later years, to prevent the

general' meeting in , the clubhouse
on Tuesday, September with
their new/ president, Dianne De-
broote, chairing the meeting
After a delicious supper put on
by the Anglican Church Women,
the meeting 'came to order. This
years new executive is as follows:
past president, Linda Rathwell;
president, Dianne, DeGroote; 1st
vice, Rosalene Barger; 2nd vice,
Phyllis Jerome; secretary, Rosalea
Peterson; treasurer, Lillian Abbot;
registrar, Barb Helm; bulletin

Club members hope the 1976-77'
season will be as successful for the
KinetteS as last year was.• With the
tremendous response to March's
fashion, shoW held in the. Public
School,thegirls felt this should be ,

scheduled for early in April.

"Operation Service" will be in -
effect by Lucknow Legion branch
309 during the month of October.
Local chairman is H. D. "Bud"
Thompson who has indicated that
_legion members will be making •a
house to house visitation to enquire
if veterans, ex-service personnel or'
dependents are aware of their
rights and privileges under the
Veteran's Charter.
This is a national campaign
during the Legion's Golden Anni-
versary Year 1926-76.
