By Paddy Ahn tenPas
. . A sincere thank you, to. you the
People of our community, and.
surrounding area for making our
Ontario Nursing Home Sunday at
Pinecrest Manor such , a -lovely
affair.
The residents were •simply
lighted . as they renewed "old
.acquaintances of bygone years. It
was a pleasure to see old friends
• and neighbours chatting over tea.
For our residents at Pinecrest it
meant that they are still an integral
part of our community and are not
forgotten people. This was the
pleasures given to them by your
kindness in coming to our tea. ,
The tea room was a very busy
place and was ably looked after by
our local Kinettes, Mrs. Dianne
DeGroot, Mrs. Diane Hackett,
Mrs. Rosalene Barger and, Mrs.
Rosalie Peterson and the Olivet
Ladies, Mrs. Oscar White, Mrs.
Ray Hamilton, Mrs. M. Coiling,
Mrs. Stan' Blackwell, Mrs. Walter
Black and Marion. Meurs of Ripley
United 'Church. Presiding at the
beautifully appointed tea tables
during the afternoon were Mrs. A.
E. McKim and Mrs. Harvey
Webster, both of whom are very
ardent in the work at Pinecrest.
The guests were greeted by' the
administrators of 'the home, Mr.
and Mrs. George' Newbold and
David Newbold, also by Mrs.
Albert tenPas, activity director.
The visitors of the afternoon were
invited to sign the guest book by
Master Robin tenPas, of Wingham. .
At the close of the tea hours it
was delightfully refreshing to have
the Young People of the Lucknow
Christian Reformed Church gather
in the rotunda of the home and a
,,lovely concert of modern hymns,
intermingled with the old favour-
ites, was given. The, young folk
were truly a delight to the residents
. as all gathered around' to listen.
The many guests and dignitariek
_ were present from all parts of our
community.
