be celebrating ' Ontario. Nursing
Home Weekend on ;September 18
and 19.
It is a very special time for staff
and residents at ,Pinecrest Manor
Nursing Home in Lucknow for it
provides an extra special opportun-
ity to open the. Nursing Home doors
to the community • and extend a
special invitation to the public to
visit, and to get to better know'the
residents and staff.
The theme they are focusing on
this year is that nursing homps
represent "A Home Away from
Home". This was, suggested by a
nursing home in Haliburton, Ontar-
io .
Over the weekeud, Sunday,
September 19, they are holding a
Residents' Tea and Open House at
which time they are pleased to be
having "the Town Fathers" in
attendance along with their wives,

The Ripley and District Lions
held their first dinner meeting at'
the Ripley Legion Hail Wednesday
night of last week. Lion president
Bob Fair called the dinner meeting
to order. Past summer activities
were summarized by committee
chairman.
One such project was the Lions
Youth Exchange program. Stanley
'Young of Canton, Texas, a first
year university student, visited.

non and Susan Irvin of R. 7
Lucknow spent• last week at the
Provincial Junior Farmer Leader-
ship Training Camp at Bark Lake in
Haliburton County.
They were 2 of 4 young 'people
'representing Huron County Junior
Farmers at this camp, being ,
attended by one hundred delegates
from across Ontario.
Martha Graham of R. 5 Lucknow
was one of four from Bruce County
attending the camp.
During the week, each member
is'expected to provide leadership to
the program' in various ways,
whether it be planning the evening
social event or vespers, sharing a
camping skill' or working on other
activities.
