Many •friends called to extend best wishes. • William Anderson Porteous and Mary Jane MacDonald were mar- ried on September 45th, 1926. The ceremony was performed at 'the bride's"home, concession 2, Kin- loss, she being the daughter of Mr. and Mrs,. D. A, MacDonald. Mrs. Porteous was a school. teacher. For the past 34 years, they haN'te resided on Rose Street after • purchasing their home from Mrs. A. G. (Dr.) Elliott. Bill came to Lucknow in April of 1921 and in partnership with his uncle, the late Robert Rae, operated the Rae and Porteous Hardware here until June 1954. They originally purd.tased the hardware from John- Joynt and Wm.' McLeod,, and •upon selling, sold to Charles Webster and Donald MacKinnon. The 20-year-old University CONTINUED ON PAGE 22 Seriously Injured In Single Vehicle Motor Accident Glen Parker, 18-year-old son of Mr. and 'Mrs. Lou Parker (Gwen Treleaven) of the Plattsville area, was seriously injured in' a motor vehicle accident last week. The Parker family formerly resided in Lucknow. Lau and sons Glen and Bradley are all employed at the B. F. Goodrich plant in Kitchener. Glen was returning home about mid- night after working 'the night shift when his car went out of control and struck a tree.' He was critically injured but is now making some progreSs.
