July 10th' following an .illness of, three years. 'He had been a resident at 'Pinecrest Manor for the past 'two years, Mr. Alton was 76. He was born in A$hfield -Township' on May 27, 1960, a son of "James Alton and Amelia Regd. On- (),ctaber 1(lth, -1925 he 'Married Loftie Mae Henry of West W.awanosh. They farmed in Ashfield Township, just south of Belfast, until retiring, to Lucknow in 1952. Sam, as he was familiarly known, was also associated with Western General Insurance of Woodstock, as a director and adjuster for several years. Four of these insurance directors acted as pallbearers. He is survived by one son Jack, his daughter.-in-law, Donna', four grandchildren, Shelley of Londan, Greg of Kitchener, Gary and Jeffrey at home; and one sister Mrs. Jack (Olive) McIntosh of Oshawa. He- was predeceased by his wife in December. 1975 and two broth- ers, :Charles 'and William. The funeral service was held at acKenzie Memorial • Chapel, L cknovv on Monday, July 12. Rev. Owensboro, Kentucky.. Visitors last week with Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Needham were Jack's sister, Mrs. Louise Reid of Corutina and her daughter, Mrs. Gordon McLellan and two, children of Ottawa. Another day Mr. and Mrs. Don Kimball of *Sarnia visited with them. . AT UTAH SYMPOSIUM Douglas Dickie, Beef Cattle Specialist, Ministry of Agriculture and Food, Markdale spent Sunday night at his parents' home. Last week he attended a Symposium on Animal Nutrition held at the University of Utah, Logan, Utah, Over thirty countries from North and South America, Africa, Europe and Asia were represented at this conference. -"Arige40-4.
