brimmed hats-And carried' nosegays
of pastel Nue, yellow and white
daisies: Flower girl,, little Kelly
McGillivray, niece of the bride,
wore a wristlet of daisies and a
floor-length gown similar to the
bridesmaids. She was escorted by
little Billy Patterson, cousin of the
bride who carried the rings on a
white satin pillow with an attached
corsage of three daisies.
Best man was Mr. on Lucier of
Guelph, friend of the grotm.
Ushers were Mr. John 'Collins,
brother of the bride and Mr. Steven
Grindley, friend of the groom.

Sunday, July 18th was a' big day
for. D4n Wylds who celebrated his
90th birthday. Open House was
held by 'his family at the home of
.Mr-and Mrs. Warren Wylds. Mr.
and Mrs., Lloyd Wylds of 'Ripley
and Miss Doris Wylds of Toronto
helped with the celebration. Many
people called during the afternoon
and evening. Pictures were taken
of the four generations and lunch
was served to all who called. Mr. '
Wylds still drives his own car, has
'recently built a new portion to his
house and has a garden 'that would
be ,the envy of many.
Baptism was held in Ashfield
Church Sunday 'when Daniel Mal-
colm was presented for baptism.
Daniel is the son 'of Mr. and Mrs.
Kenneth MacLennan.
Fred Ritchie. of Huntsville is
visiting relatives and frien& in the
area.
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Simpson
have their granddaughter' visiting
with them from Western Canada.
Mrs. Ewan MacLean and Mrs.
, Dave Elphick were among those
who enjoyed a bus trip to the
Botanical Gardens in Hamilton
recently. The Ripley Horticultural
Society, sponsored the trip.

were among the guests of Mrs.
Mary MacDonald in Ripley on
Sunday when two of Mrs. MacDon.
ald's grandchildren were baptised.

On Saturday, the fifteenth day of
May, 1976, Margaret Doreen
Collins and David William Loch-
head were united in. marriage.
The' bride is the youngest
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Burton
Collins of R. R. 3. Ripley and the
groom is the only son of Mr. and
%Mrs. William 'Lochhead of Stoney
Creek.
Two ceremonies convicted their
marriage; a Balial exchanging of
vows took place in the honie of the
bride's parents in the early
' afternoon, Saturday. Their two
witnesses were Sandra and Edwin
The groom wore_;; an ' all white
tuxedo tailaiat with a single yellow
rose boutonniere, His attendants,
the bride's'' father and the ring.
bearer wore powder blue tuxedos
with an ivory rose.
The dinner and reception were
•held in the Ripley Huron Complex
auditorium. The bride's mother
wore a floor-length floral „ blue
chiffon coatdress with a white
-gardenia --cder safe. Tom ~ groom's —
mother Wore a floor-length coral
jersey jacket dress with a white
gardenia corsage. •
For a wedding trip 'to ParadiSe
Island, Bahamas, the bride wore a
white linen jumpsuit with red trim.
The couple now live in Ripley.
Prior to her marriage" the bride
was 'honoured at showers given by
Mrs. Cecile Hoek of Ancaster, the
groom's aunt,- a girlfriend shower
at the home of Joan Courtney, a
friend's• shower given by Rae and
Sue Smith And a community' shower
at the Purple Grove Community
Centre.

friends and relatives. Reverend
Carnochan of Ripley officiated in
the double ring ceremony.
Organist was Ms. Margaret Mac-
Kay of Ripley. Folksinger Gay
Brown of Niagara-on-the-Lake was
soloist, accompanying herself with
her guitar.
Given in marriage by her father,
the bride chose a beautiful floor
