Oklahoma, in his. 91st year.
,Mr, Green was a former minister of.
St. 'Helens United Church.
The late Mr. • Green, born
November 11, 1885, in the village'
of Progteston, Halton County, was
the son of the late Charles Emerson
Green and Adelia •Ruth (Quimby)
' Green. .
He was ordained a ,minister of
• the Methodist Church in Kitchen -
et, 'Ontario, June 1919, and served
the church as an active minister for
over fifty years. He was married to

daughter, Ruth, Mrs. E. R. Apland
of San Jose, California; • ten.
grandchildren' and three great
grandchildren.
• Funeral services were held
Friday, June 25th from the First
United Methodist Church, Stilwell,
with Rev. Walter. Racket' officiat-
ing, and Larry Eubanks as 'soloist.
Interment was in the Stilwell City
Cemetery under the direction ,a
the Roberts Funeral Horne.

Brucelea Haven
June Activities
• • .
On Tuesday, June lst, a bus load
Of our residents journeyed up to
Gateway Haven at Wiarton to their
annual tea and craft sale. ,It was a
lovely • day and our residents
enjoyed the trip and also visiting
with some of their old friends;
;Ars. McBurney held. the Angli-
can • Church Women's monthly
meeting at Brucelea Haven on June
2nd at 2' p.m. Some of our
residents ha a been former mem-
bers and enjoyed being able to join
in with them. Lunch vv_asserved at
the conclusion of the meeting.
We had four bingos-, • three
euchre and crokinole games and
two solo parties with high and low
prizes- for -each,- also -lucky number
and cup prizes.
The Jackson Women's Institute
came on June 7th and held their
monthly/meeting in .the auditorium.
Mrs. Sarah McTeer, pie of our
residents is a- member of the
Institute and that day was a very
honoured member as was made
mention. The Institute made and
gave eaekrestdent a lovely Bruce
Tartan corsage. They had a lovely
program at the conclusion of their
meeting with Mrs. Dalton Moffat
showing slides of her trip to Puerto
Rico. Mrs. Ronald McKeenman
accompanied on the piano' by Mrs.
Hugh McCulloch sang several
lovely solos. The ladies then
served cookies and juice to our
residents.
The Kinette Club of Walkerton
sponsored a bus trip to Sauble
Beach on Tuesday, June 15th. We
stopped at Port Elgin and -had
treats for everyone.
The Day Care Children came and
put on a most interesting program
on June They brought
cookies for our residents and the
children served them, including a
cold drink.
The Brucelea Haven Auxiliary
sponsored our monthly birthday
party for June. Mrs. Vicki Zettel
sang and played the guitar and
Mrs. Vasey .of Cargill gave several
musical selections on the piano
• With our residents joining in. with
the chorus. After, each resident
was presented , with a suitable
• birthday gift , and then the ladies
• served birthday. cake and ice
cream.
• The Senior Citizens of Hanover,
'under the direction of Mr. Fred
.0ehm. invited us to see the show,
"Ma and Pa Kettle" which proved
to be very humorous and comical.
The LadieS Auxiliary, Branch
102, Walkerton came on June 23rd -
and put on a Monster Bingo with
lovely prizes for the winners.
We had a quiz eontest. and
spelling match on June 25th with a
• very good attendance. Our'
residents do extremely well. Many
• of them have perfect scores.
On Tuesday, June 29th, Rev. D.
Browne, St. Thomas Anglican
Church, Walkerton came for his
farewell service before. going to
Red Deer to work with the Indian
people. At the conclusion of the
service, Mrs. Evelyn Hussey
expressed our good wishes to the

Pro- life group
• The name of the Wingharn pro-
life group has now been legally,
changed to "Voice for Life, Wing-
. ham", which is affiliated with Al-
liance For Life of Canada.
This announcement was
• made at an executive meeting of
the group held recently at the
home of Mrs. Gordon Wright. '
Some of the topics of discussion
included the possibility of pur-
chasing new slides and also of
organizing a nurses' pro-life
group.
• Mrs. Sally Campeau, education
chairman, gave a report on the
risks and complications • of
abortion. She said that in 1969.the
• American college of Obstetrics
and Gynecology made the follow-
_ ing_ .statement.L "The inherent • -
risks of a therapeutic abortion
are serious and • may be life-
