. Drizzling rain and a threatening

third auction sale in the new Huron
Township garage at the east end of
Malcolm Street. On Monday
evening of last week, auctioneer
.Grant McDonald and Wallace
Ballaglf gold the household items
for Mrs. Belle (George) Henry
there. Helping with the moving Of
the things from the house on the
main street south were Dan A. and
Roddy MacDonald and Jim Brooks
with their ,trucks. On hand
assisting were. Mr. and Mrs.
Donnie MacLean and tons of
Toronto, Mrs. Audrey MacDonald,
Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Wardell, Mrs.
Fran Wylds and several others.
Like the two previous sales, a good
crowd was on hand for the bidding.

MacAuley back to his home in
Ripley after spending, the past
weeks in Kincardine and District
Hospital. /

arranged including a visit to ,Green
Gables, the home of L. M.
Montgomery and Womileigh Repli-
cas followed in the evening by the
musical presentation of "Anne of
Green Gables" at Confederation
Centre. P.E.I. W.I. branches
hosted the delegates on- tour for
-noon luncheon. Workshops and
discussion sessions were held on
Current Issues and Concerns".
Mrs. Agnes Higgins, District
Director of Montreal, 'spoke On
"Nutrition". Delegates present
were entertained and served a
lovely banquet at Confederation
Centre as guests of the Govern-
ment of Prince Edward Island on
the last night of the convention.

McDonald's antiques. The sale
started at ten-thirty in the morning'
and by six in the afternoon it was
over. Auctioneers Grant McDonald
of the second of Huron township
and Wallace Ballagh of Teeswater,
worked together till afternoon
when Wallace went to Bervie for a

sales,- it was a good one with a
erovird of several hundred People in
the new Ripley Huron Recreation
Complex at times. The number of
registered bidders was over 250
•With five known antique dealers
there. One might say that the
bidders came from across Canada
and soird from the. neighbouring
states. For example, there was .

at this first sale in the Ripley Huron

On Friday afternoon a moving
bee was held to help George and
Murray McDonald move the 300

shop down to the complex. Driving
pick-ups were Pat Courtney of the
2nd' concession of Huron, Miss.

tutes attended the seventh National
Convention of the Federated Worn-
en's Institutes of-Canada held
recently at Charlottetown, Prince
Edward Island. They met at the
University of P.E.f. fro'm June 20th
to 24th. Mrs, Olive Farquharson,
World President, a native of
England, addressed the some 800
women and, many hnSbands who
attended from `across Canada on
Sunday evening, June 20th at
Confederation Centre. Mrs, A. J.
McLean, National President of
F.W.I.C., was also present.
