Spring Luncheon
DUNGANNON NEWS
On Sunday, April .25, Mrs.
Lauretta 'Hefford entertained a
group of. Dungannon Old Girls at
her /20th annual spring luncheon.
The guests were Laurette /Treleav-
en, Wilma (Treleaven) Woodford,
Eva Plough, Alma Huntier, Edith
(Treleaven) Younkie, Hilda Finni-
• gan, Margaret (Pentla,nd) Prit-
chard, Flora Durnin and per friend,
Nora Creyke. After luncheon, the'
guests enjoyed reminiscences - of
chureh - life in Dungannon a
generation or two ago. and also
talking about old • 'friends and
events in the village. '
Two candidates, Judy Godfrey
and Kathie -Bere .were presented
for confirmation at worship service
at Dungannon United Church on
Sunday. 'After the confirmation
service they were welcomed into
the congregation by Rev. H. G.
Dobson and by Bert McWhinney,
clerk of •the session. Sunday, May
• 9, the Sacranient of Baptism will be
• observed. Interested parents
should contact the minister. The
ladies,of the U.C.W. are packing a
bale so articles of clothing, men's,
women's, children's and shoes in
good condition will be acceptable at
the church.
Miss Debbie Vella of Goderich
visited her aunt, Mrs. Mary Bere
on• Sunday.
Sympathy is extended to Mr. and
Mrs. Roy Wintemute and family on
the death of his brother-in-law at
Simcoe. •
Recent visitors with , Mr. Frank
Moulton were his son and his wife;
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Moulton of
Simcoe.
On Good Friday, Mrs. Lillian
MacDonald's grandson and his
wife, Mr. and Mrs. Peter MacDon-
ald and little-son Ryan of Ottawa
and 'Mr. and Mrs. Jim Peterson of
Lucknow visited with Mrs. Mac-
Donald and Mr. Moulton.
Mr. Frank Moulton went to
Wingham Hospital by ambulance
last Sunday and is being treated for
diabetes and a heart condition.. His
granddaughter Miss Brenda Moul-
ton and friend of Port Elgin visited
him in the hospital one day during
the week.
Mrs. Cecil Blake' spent a few
days in Alliston with Mr. and Mrs.
Jim. Blake and Sean. On her way

More than 90 persons were
present on Wednesday evening,
April 21 ' when the 'Dungannon
Young People Group' sponsored a
euchre and shoot social evening,
Following the playing of cards, a
50-50. draw was made with' a
cheque for 5257.00 being presented
to BO Wright, 2nd vice president
of the Agricultural Society. The
first place winner was Harold
Adams who' received a cheque for
$128.00;, 2nd place, Gordon 'Martin
$86.00; and Sally 'Kerr, $43.00.
Winners in the card games were
ladies' high shoot, Margaret Er-
rington; ladies' low shoot, Greg
Park (as a lady); men's high shoot,
Gordon Anderson; men's low
shoot, David Errington; travelling
shoot, Linda McNee; novelty prize,
Frank Pentland; high euchre lady,

Robt. Irvin was called to his
father's bedside in Wingham
Hospital when Mr. Wm. Irvin took
a bad spell. Mr. and. Mrs. Robt.
Irvin visited Mr. Wm. Irvin on
Sunday and found him' somewhat
improved.
Leonard Chisholm has been in
Wingham Hospital .the past two
weeks -suffering from pain in the
sciatic nerve on his left side. He is
receiving therapy for his back.
Wm. Wiggins "returned home.,
from the Wingham Hospital on
Thursday.
Callers with Mrs. Elma Reed
during the week were Mr. and Mrs.
Allan Reed, of Port Colborne,. Mr.
and Mrs. Frank Sherwood of
Southampton, Thos. Dickson of

Lucknow.

gannon Women's Institute at a
meeting of Women's Auxiliary of
W,I. at Huronview on Monday,
April 19.

visited on Sunday with Mr. and
Mrs. Hugh McWhinney.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Pentland,
accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Bob
Andrew of Kincardine spent the
weekend at Sudbury with Mr. and
Mrs. Hugh Crockett.
