The annual meeting of the
Dungannon branch of the Women's
Institute was held April 7 at 12.30
.m. at the 'home of Mrs. 'Graham
Malee, with' 18 members and
three visitors in attendance,
Mrs, McNee,, president, extend-
ed a hearty welcome to the district-
preSident; Mrs. Ivan Wightman of
861grave, and to' all who came.
FollOwink singing of the W.I. grace
a*smorgasbord pot-luck dinner was
very much enjoyed. Many varieties
of foods were sampled. -
The opening Ode and Mary
Stewart Collect were used to open
the meeting.- In answer to the roll
call, "What the Institute has. done
for me", many fine thoughts were
expressed. Fees were. paid for
1976-77.
The correspondence was , read
and discussed. Four members '.had
attended- the Food Forum at
Clinton April V 6. Several others
plan to, be present at the 75th
ni anversary of the .Goderich branch
banquet April 8. An invitation to
attend a deisert card party and
bake sale at Tiger Dunlop branch
was read. The quilt recently. made
was displayed and is very lovely.
The treasurer's report showed a
decided increase in funds.
Mrs. McNee then introduced
Mrs. Wightman who brought
greetings from 'West Huron district
and emphasized the importance of
W.I': work. District annual, is ,at
Auburn May 26.
The annual reports of the
conveners were 'given, .and a, copy
of each' forwarded to 'the district
conveners. Other items of business
followed: to pay fees of curator; to
pay 50c to Huronview Auxiliary and
try to have two members attend

Clinton; sick and shut-in friends in
the community are to be remem-
bered at Easter time., The
committee for this includes Mrs.
Clifford Purdoh, Mrs. Robt.
Mrs. Lorne Iversi and Mrs. George
Emblem. "V
The report of,,,,the nominating
committee was read by Mrs. Robt.
IrVin, and Mrs. Wightman conduet-
ed the . election of V officers.
Collection and Pennies, for Friend-
ship were received, and V the
meeting closed by singing; the
Queen. •
The standing committee conven-
ers are to meet at the home of Mrs.
Elmer Black on Wednesday even-
ing, April 14, to plan the programs
for 1976-1977.

Miss Margaret Jane Kelly, sister
`of Mrs, Wm. Hogan, Lucknow,
died suddenly at her home, R. 'R. 3
Lucan, on Friday, April 2nd hr her
68th year.
She was a daughter. of-the late
James Kelly and Julia Carrol and
was born in' Biddulph Township on
October 14, 1908. ."
Miss Kelly is survived- by two
sisters Mrs. Wm. (Mary) Hogan of
LucknoW and Mrs. Martha Ryan of
Richmond, Michigan.
She was predeceased by four
brothers and one sister.
Funeral' Miss was celebrated on
Tuesday, April 6th at 10 a.m. at St.
Patricks Catholic Church by Rev.
Father J. McGraw. •V
Burial was in ,the adjoining
cemetery, R. R. 3' Lucan.

afternoon.

Toronto were up working oh their
new home. Mr. Clark will soon be
retiring and they will be taking up
permanent residence in the village.
