SUFFERED LOG INJURY
Simon -Logtenberg suffered a
painful injury to• his leg when he
came—in, contact with the feed
auger.1 Fortunately the belt broke
but he' had to have several stitches
to close the wound.
Mrs. Lois Farrish and the
Kindergarten 2 class visited Frank
Pentland's sugar bush on Thursday
and were treated to some maple
sugar. They brought/ back some of
the candy for the Kindergarten 1
class as they were• unable to go.
The sap was not running well and
Frank pulled the' Spiles the next
day.
,Mr. and Mrs. pardon Anderson,
Lynne and Mary' and Jan Caesar
and Mr. and Mrs. -John Anderson
visited relatives in and around
Akron,- Ohio dining the holiday
week,
Mr. and Mrs., John Andersen
moved from Lucknow to Goderich a
week , ago Saturday.
Communion service was held at
Dungannon United Church on
Sunday and Rev, H. G. Dobson
spoke on "The .Cross and the
Lord's, Supper". Next Sunday will

Confirmation class ' was ,cancelled
on Saturday because some of the
class were taking • part in a
tournament but the class will -meet
at 10. a.m. this Saturday 'morning.
Mrs. Heber Eedy returned home
on the week end after spending a
few weeks ,with her daughter and'
son-in-law Lucille and Ralph Hend-
erson in Goderich, •
Mrs. Harold Maize has peen in
Goderich hoipital the 'past two
weeks receiving treatment for heart
trouble and, diabetes., -
,Mrs. Jack Phillips (Nancy)
accompanied Marina Park, Noreen
Park and Sharon Dawson on their
trip to Jamaica. They returned
home on Monday*and report a very
enjoyable holiday. Jasbn and
Andrew Phillips stayed with their
aunt and uncle, Tom, and Evelyn
Phillips. of •Lucknow while their
mother was away.
Diane Park and` Linda McNee•
spent the weekend in • Sarnia
visiting a former classmate of
Diane's, Diane Hayward.

Paul Drennan, son of Mr. and
Mrs. J. C. Drennan, injured his
ankle recently at home. -
Aubrey Higgins entered Pine-
crest Manor Nursing Home, Luck-
now on Thursday of last week. He
had previously been hospitalized in
London..

Fun and Fitness is held every
Monday at 1.45 p.m. in the
auditorium with our group increas-
ing steadily. Miss Winnifred
Wrightson, one of our , residents,
plays for our Sing Song and
Hymns, and* this time we want to
thank her, for all her help.-
• We had a euchre in our Tuck
Shop area • on Tuesday, February
2nd with prizes, as follows: high
lady and high man, Bessie McAr-
thur and` Oscar Sparrow; low lady
and low man, Charlotte Cameron
and Dr. Robinson. .
The Quiz contest and spelling
match was held on Thursday,-
February
,
5th, and preyed to be
most interesting and there were
prizes for everyone who attended.
Our monthly residents council
met on February 10th in the Tuck
Shop area and there was a good
attendance. The roll call was to tell
of an old-fashioned winter each had
experienced.;
We 'had two Movies during the'
month • of February, one on
February 11th and the other on
February 25th. Our residents
thoroughly enjoyed both of them. •
We will 'be having another on
March 24th.
The Kinette 'Club of Walkerton
came and put on our monthly
birthday ,party. They pinned a
pretty valentine on each of our-
residents,•and presented the resid-S.
ents with a lovely program: Nicele
DesrocheS entertained With a .piano
'solo; Kim Russell and Gordon
Francis, a guitar duet; Mailanne
Guenther, ' Gymnastics to musk;
Trio, Larie Walker, Shelley New-
man and Janice Getz sang the Skye
Boat---Song; Dietra Gaitens' and
Larie Walker, jazz dance.
The group sang rnany lovely old
songs, and at the conclusion each
of our birthday residents received a
lovely gift. Then the Kinettes
served birthday cake and ice cream
to bring to a conclusion a most
enjoyable. evening.
On Friday, February 13th, we
had a Valentine euchre party.' Each
resident was, given a valentine and
bur prizeS Were boxes of valentine
candies.
The Grade 8 pupils from
Mildmay Sacred Heart School came
and put on a lovely program in
our auditorium. After/the program
they stayed-a while and visited with
our residents. •
The ladies auxiliary, Branch 102,
under the convenership of Mrs.
Verna Clancy, came. and put on
their monthly bingo. Mr. Harold
Cassidy of our local Legion called
the numbers, and at the conclusion'
the ladies served juice, and cookies,
The Catholic Women's League
came on February 26th and ptit on
a euchre in our Tuck Shop area.

won the high prizes, Millie
Lambertus and Dr. Robinson the ,
