Lucknow Pee Wees had their day
at Goderich Young Canada Week
on Thursday; March 25. Their first
game was played that morning
against Forest. 'This game resulted
ih a 9-1 victory for• Forest. Six of
Forests :goals were seored by a
strong left defenceman Tony Gil-
hard. Lucknow's lone goal came in
the third period when- Alan Rivett
scored from Richard Moore.' Forest
was a strong contender in . the
tournament and continued to the
"C" championship game when
they lost 'to Shelburne.
Lucknow's second game was that
evening in the consolation round
-against Wingham. Lucknow play-
ed with more drive and spirit, 'but
lost to' Wingham 7-3.
Lucknovv's scorers were Raynard
from, Clark, Clark from • Raynard
and Taylor, Moore from Alton.
Wingham continued in the
tournament to take the "C"
Consolation Championship.
Because of a misplaced applica-
tion, Lucknow Pee Wees- were
entered 'as a. cancellation substitute
in' the , C" category in the
tournament instead of their rightful
"D" place. In spite of .the scores,
the team enjoyed the experience of
competition in the Young Canada
Week.

The Lucknow arena was the
scene ,of action on Sunday after-
noon when the 1949-50 Pee Wee
hockey team took on the local Pons
Club in, a "watered down" contest.
. A problem with the ice plant,
which made the game seem more
like 'a contest of shallow divipg, was
blamed for making the action Iciok a
bit slow at times. ,
