School bus drivers and operators
haVe been living in a nightmare
from week to week during the
recent storm conditions which
seem to go on and on. Bus drivers,
on many occasions, had not been
making their runs because. of
weather conditions, and in many
cases, the runs have been made
and they are no sooner at school,
than the children .are being . sent
home again. One such occasion
last week saw Jgrnes Montgomery
slide off the road with a bus on the
2nd of Kinloss in zero visibility. A
passing' pick-up truck removed the
public :school, children and took
them• to a central point where they
'were picked up by other means.
The bus remained stranded for
several hours.

Elora were closed in the autumn by
the ministry' becauSe they failed, to
meet the standards.

$40,000.
The "town clerk said if it is
decided to build a new arena, the

washrooms and the $10,000 con-
crete floor could be salvaged.
The building is used all year for
community' events. .
Aboitt half of ,the 150 people
attending ...a public meeting in
Teeswater last week said they
favoured •the building of a 'new
combination arena and community

The other option open to .the
town is ' repairing the 'existing
structure at an estimated cost of
$68,000.
In addition to strengthening the
roof trusses, insulation and lighting
at exits, would have to' be improved
for, fire safety.
The 'arena board will look into
plans and cost of a combination
arena-community hall and report
back as soon as possible -to another,
