GORRIE—The Miller reunion
was held on Sunday afternoon in
the Gerrie community .park with
75 present, Those from a distance
were Tack and Mrs.' Miller and
family, from Collingwood; Mr. and
Mrs. Merle Jones and family, Col-
lingwood; Mr. and Mrs. Tom Dal-
ton, 5tayner; Misses Nellie and
Cavelle Ruttan, Toronto; Mr. and
Mrs.. Hal Copeland and, family,
Erin; Mr. and, Mrs. Joe Higgins
and family, Mitchell. Others . were
present from ,Goderiph; Lucknow,
13lyth, Brussels, WrOxeter, Ford-
with and Gerrie,
Plans were made to hold the
next reunion in Gorrie park on the
afternoon of the Wroxeter United
Church :Centennial Sunday in 1958.

The driver of the ,car on the left became impatient
behind a string of five cars and pulled out to pasS,them.
He accelerated 'hard because, the station wagon was
approaching. He -didn't make it. The driver .of the
station wagon apparently. realized too late 'that the
impatient driver was coming too fast to stop in time.
You can see what happened.
The impatient driver# was seriously injured. His com-
panion received a fractured skull. The driver of the
station wagon and his wife were killed. Their 5'-year-old
son was badly injured.

Ken Ashton, who has been prin-
cipal of the Brussels public school
for the past 30 years, resigned at
the end of the term and is spend-
ing the summer with Mr, and Mrs.
Percy Ashton. He plans to take a
rest from teaching for several
months.

spending two weeks vacation at
the home of her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Anson Ruttan.
