FIFTEEN GRADUATES
TO MISSION BAND
BLUEVALE--The Woman's As-
sociation held a brief meetisg in
the United Church on July 4th, the
president, Mrs. Elmer Sellers, pre-
siding. Only routine business was,
discussed.
There will be no meeting of the
Woman's Association or the
W.M.S. during August. ,
The W,M,S, entertained the Baby
Band and :the Mission Band; fol-
lowing the W„A. meeting,. Mrs.
Alex McCrackin, president, con-
ducting the opening- exercises.
Mrs. Bert Garniss, president of
the Baby Band, had charge of the
program, Jill Thornton sang a solo
and piano solos were played by
Margaret Craig and Betty Hether-
ington, Slsan 'Sellers read a mis-
sionary story.
Miss Margaret Curtis told the
story of the boyhood of Jesus, il-
lustrating it by use of a flannel -
graph,
Mrs. W. J. Johnston, who has
been Mission Band leader for many
years, explained how the Band had
continued to achieve a certain
standard for 17 years, by holding at
least ten meetings . a year, having
an average attendance of 0O% or
'over of the membership; arid by;
other regitlrenient. ”

uating exercise for members of the
Baby Band who were promoted
to the Mission Band, They were:

Improve Cemetery
BLUEVALE--Recently the Blue -
vale cemetery has acquired a fine
appearance by the restoring of
monuments and improving the
grounds. Some of the' older monu-
ments have been placed together
on a• permanent base.
Members of the cemetery board,

Mac Scott, also those who assisted
in the work, are to be commended
for the changes which make the
tatecemetery a credit to the neighbor-
hood and which all citizens appree-
