dates set for Monday, and Thurs-
day of each week, commencing the
first week in July. All children
eight years' and over wishing to

The' following teams have been
entered for W.O.A.A. comnetition:
Ladies' intermediate, ladies' junior,
and bantam baseball and juvenile
softball. A meeting will be called
early in June to ascertain if
enough are interested in playing
midget baseball and pee wee base-
ball. .

Once again, both morning and
evening, large crowds were drawn
to Wingham 'United Chinch to
Share in the Sunday School Anni-
versary and Flower Sunday. The
church had been made beautiful
with flowers and symbols to em-
phasize the theme for the day, "In
God's 'Good Time", A welcome was
extended with baskets of flowers
in the church entrance and down
the aisles.
To meet the eye as one entered
was. a' model 'chUrch of colonial!
design, erected over' the pulpit
area and extending more than 20
feet in height, Its walls were of
white spired, carrying stained
glass windows of pansies and the
doors were outlined with purp)e
Four white pillars support-
ed the •porch, Thd three-foot tower
held a three-sided floral clock,
black hands ' on ' white .dial
against a background of purple
lilacs,- AR thre-e faces told the

Above' ,the clock was a belfry
with shulttered windows, which
carried the spire, topped, with a
weather-vane to show the wind di-
rection.
On one side of the gallery stele('
a. cherry tree in full bloom. and•
on the Other side, a tree filled with
red cherries,* symbolizing that, in
God's Good Time, the fragrant
blossom becomes the perfect fruit.
Against the face of the gallery,
large ornamental baskets of spring
flowers were suspended from, curv-
ed white brackets, Encircling the
posts under the gallery, were large
floral umbrellas of lilacs to, dhow

Deep and sincere sympathy is

problem regarding the supply of
water at rural fires, and he asked
if it would be possible to locate
emergency water tanks at points
where there was a scarcity of
water within the rural fire area.
The council did not see how this
could. be done and they said that
the cost of erecting such tanks
would be, much too high. for the
town, They Would also be a great
danger to young children, it was
thought.
Mayor McKinney said that the
town was at present trying to
obtain prices on a number of
benches to be placed at, suitable
spots in the town for the older
