Study period at meetings. Mrs. W.
Scott is leader for next month, com-
mencing with the first book of the
New Testament followed by a quiz.
Hymn no. 148 was sung and the meet-
ing closed with the benediction.
Attend Whitechurch Anniversary
A large crowd attended the anni-
versary services at Whitechurch Unit-
ed Church on Sunday, June 14. At
the morning service Rev. Charles D.
Cox, of Belgrave Knox United Church
was in charge assisted by Rev. R. D.
Currie, of Chalmers Presbyterian

W.I. Entertained at Whit' echtlrelt
The meknbers of Belgrave Women's
Inatitnte were entertained by the
Whitechureh Institute at the meeting
held on Tuesday, June 9th in the
Whitechurch Community 14111.
The president Mrs, Jas. McInnis
was in the chair, The meeting was
opened with the National Anthem
which was followed by the Institute
Ode. After a short business period
the following program was enjoyed:
a piano duet by the Misses Ross and
Metcalfe; a reading by Mrs. Walter
Scott entitled "Mrs. Brown's Change
and Rest"; vocal duet by Mrs. Geo.
Michie and Mrs, Jas. Michie; solo by
Miss Veralie Metcalfe; duet by Mrs,
Garnet Farrier and Mrs. W. R. Far-
rier. Mrs. Thomas Metcalfe gave a
very interesting talk on her recent
trip to Mexico and showed a piece
of coral that she brought gack as a
souvenir.
The meeting was closed with the
T,ord's Prayer, A bountiful lunch was
served by the Whitechurch ladies.
Mrs, Walter Scott expressed the
thanks of the Belgrave members for
a very enjoyable afternoon,
Evening Auxiliary Meets
The Evening Auxiliary of the W.M.
S. of Knox United Church met at the
home of Mrs. Roy McSwain Tuesday,
June 9th, .with twenty-six members
present.
The president, Mrs. Clifton Walsh
was in charge. The meeting was
opened with the hymn "This is My
Father's World" and was followed
by prayer by the president.
During the business period it was
decided to send the sum of ten dollars
to "CARE" for food parcels for
Korea. The donations of clothing for
the bale, being sent to Korea in the
fall, are to be left with Mrs. Louis
Stonehouse by Sept.
The members agreed to carry on
the meetings during July and August.
The worship period was in charge
of Mrs. George Michie's group and
was opened with a hymn, Scripture
reading and prayer by Mrs, Michie.
A dialogue on Bible study was then
presented by the following members:
Mrs. G. Nicholson, Mrs. P. Camp-
bell, Mrs. W, Armstrong, Mrs. E.
Armstrong and Mrs. R. Oaks.
The meeting was closed with a
hymn and was followed by a Bible
quiz conducted by Mrs. Geo. Michie.
Lunch was served.
W.11.1.S. Meets
The W,M.S, of the United Church
held their June meeting on Wednes-
day afternoon with a good attend-
ance, Mrs. E. Anderson presiding.
Mrs. Ken Wheeler acted as secretary
in the absence of Mrs. Geo. Martin.
The minutes and treasurer's report
were accepted as read, followed by
the correspondence, which was dealt
with, regarding articles for the bale,
and orders for the Annual Report.
The Worship service was conducted
A large crowd was in attendance in
the Forester's Hall on Friday night
when Bluevale presented a
three-act play entitled "A Close
Shave", which was sponsored by the
Choir of Knox 'United Church,
Members of the cast Were; Mrs.
George Hetherington, Dian McLean,
Mrs, Elmer Sellers, Harold Johnston,
Zeitna Stamper, Hazel Sanderson,
George Darling, Robert p'raser, Nor-
ma Moffat, Kenneth Johnston, Mrs.
Arthur Ratan and Alan Ereeken-
ridge, Mrs. A, Aitltert was the dir-
ector, The program between acts
consisted of an accordian by by
Elaine Bolt. Vocal solo by Ruth
Procter accompanied by Mrs. George
Johnston and a reading by Mrs.
Walter Scott.
The play was well presented and
the program very much enjoyed.

on Sunday with Miss Shirley Marks.

Marilyn spent Sunday with Mr. and
Mrs. Robt. Higgins.
Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Wightman, of
Listowel, spent Sunday with Mr. and
Mrs. Edgar Wightman.
