MULVENEY'S IMMESHES Availed:0 Olt AU Druggists Present Gift for Perfect Attendance The regular monthly meeting of the Women's Missionary Society of St. Andrew's Church was held on Wed- nesday afternoon, June 3rd., at 2.30 in the Sunday school room, with a good attendance. The president, Mrs. H. Aitchison, occupied the chair and opened the meeting with a prayer, written by an African girl. The secretary and the treasurer gave their reports, A motion was made to present a gift to Miss Mary Rae, for her four years perfect attendance in the Junior Society before she leaves in August.' Arrangements were made to secure Rev, Boggs es guest speaker at the the annual Home Helper's meeting in July. The Scripture reading and medi- tation from the Ninth chapter of Matthew 9-38, was read by Mrs. Geo, Day. Mrs. T. .C. King gave the Glad Tidings prayer. Two very excellent reports were read of the Presbyterial held recently at Whitechurch. Mrs. George Olver gave a report of the morning meeting and Mrs. Leslie Fortune gave a report of the afternoon proceedings, both of which were very interesting, Hymn 381 was sung and the offering receiv- ed. The Offertory prayer was given by Mrs. H. Gilmour. The general business of the meeting was conducted, followed by a lovely solo, "God Will Take Care of You," by Mrs. William Ford, accompanied at the piano by Miss K. Pringle. There was a story-telling contest with the prize donated by the society to the winner. Miss Audrey Gilmour was the first contestant, having as her sub- ject, Mary Flessor, beloved mission- ary. The second contestant was Miss Donalda McDonald, who chose for her subject a great Scotsman and missionary, David Livingstone. Both of these were excellent addresses, and the judges found it difficult to judge the winner. However, Lieutenants Clarke and Oates, of the Salvation Army selected Miss Donalda McDon- ald as the winner, and Mrs. Douglas Fry presented these girls with the first and second prize. The meeting was then favored with a very lovely duet by Lieut. Clarke and Lieut. Oates, who accompanied on the accordion in "Let Me Love Thee." This was very much appreciated and Mrs. Aitchisor, expressed thanks to these ladies for their assistance. The topic for the day "African Life, Old and New," was very ably given by Miss Cora Gilkinson and was most interesting and instructive, The hymn 594 was sung and the. meeting closed with the Lord's Prayer in unison, 61111.111111•111111R1111111RINE1111111R11011111 GOOD ra REPAIR SAVES MONEY ENelOY GOOD uAL t nt nvera With ,owns Kw/.
