The meeting opened with the hymn "Zion's King Shall Reign Victorioes," Vie Scripture lesson was read by Mrs. J. H. Howe. Mrs. Ken Graham and Mrs. W. Cooper as delegates to the Huron PresbyterY, gave their reports. The report on the bale to Korea was given, thirteen quilts being sent. Mrs. Jack Wilson sang "Dear Land of Home" accompanied by Mrs. Ken Graham. The shut in for the month remem- bered by prayer was Mrs. J, W. Bes- wetherick, The roll call was answer- ed by a verse on prayer. A skit was given on "United Nations and Christian Missions", by Mrs. Tristram, Mrs. Graham, Mrs. Colwell, Mrs. E. W. Schaefer and Miss Beswetherick, The meeting closed with hymn, "Lord of the Lands", and prayer by Mrs. Colwell. Legion Auxiliary Rally Fourteen ladies of the Howick legion attended the zone rally at Lucknow. Twelve auxiliaries were represented about 250 being present. Mrs. Wm, McCann of the Howick Legion was made deputy zone com- mander by vote. The provincial presi- dent informed the ladies the zone had raised the sum of twenty thous- and, four hundred and eighteen dollars. A delicious lunch was served. Accepts Position in Belmont Mr. Harold Parsons, local C.P.R, Mr, and Mrs. Parsons have lived in Fordwlch for the past 7 years and are very fine citizens. They were members of Trinity Anglican Church, Mrs. Parsons was a Very active mem- ber of the Woman's Auxiliary being treasurer of the guild for several years. Mr. Parsons was a member of the Brotherhood. The best wishes of the community go with Mr, and Mrs, Parsons to their new home. Personals Miss Esther Harding of Mount Forest spent last Monday at her home here. • Miss Sheila Denny, of Kitchener, was a week-end W visitor with her mother Mrs. Mary Denny. Mrs. Marshall Armstrong, Mrs. Spence Brears, Mrs. S. Forster, Mrs. E. Hargrave, Mrs. Frank Graham, Mrs. Selby Foster, Miss Margaret Spence, Mrs, Crosby Sothern and Mrs. Robt. Graham attended the 35th anniversary of the W.A. of St, Steph- en's Church, Gorrie. Mrs, A. C. Calder, of Goderich, diocesan presi- dent was guest speaker, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Baker and fam- ily, of London, were week-end visit- ors with 'relatives here. Mr. and Mrs. George Baker, returned home with them having spent a week in London. Mrs. Ruby Forster accompanied by Miss Mary Corbett, of Toronto, spent several days at her home in Ford- wich. Mr. Harvey Bride, Toronto, also Mr. Lorne Bride, St. Catharines, spent the week-end at their respec- tive home. week-end guests of Mrs. W, Hein- stock and other relatives, Miss Helen Heinstock was soloist in Trinity Anglican Church on Sunday morning. Mrs. Lindsay Gall3raith is not en- joying the best of health. Her many friends hope there will soon be some improvement. Mrs. Mary Denny also Mrs. Alver- etta Wallace were week-end visitors of Mr, and Mrs. Earl Corbett, of Woodstock. Mrs. Mac McIntosh, of Cranbrookl and Mrs. Bell, of Atwood, were guests of Miss Margaret Spence on Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Patterson were London visitors on Monday, Master Randy King, two year old son of Mr, and Mrs, Jack King was rushed to Toronto to the Sick Child- ren's Hospital having developed spinal meningitis. Randy is improv- ing nicely and is able to be up around. His parents expect he will soon be able to return home,. Mr. Harvey Bride, of the University of Toronto, having finished his term, entertained his teacher and twenty- five students of his French class, on Friday at his home here. The even- ing was spent in dancing. Miss Francis Lemon, of Niagara Falls, spent the week-end at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Demer- ling. Misses Aldyth Bast and Elaine Felkar, attended the district conven- tion at Huron College, for the Wal- ther League of the Lutheran Church, on May 16 and 17.
