Marion Williamson Group
The regular meeting of the Marion
Williamson Girls' Group of the Pres-
byterian Church was held at the
manse on Tuesday of last week at
eight o'clock.
The meeting opened with the call
to worship by the president, Mary
Rae. The Scripture lesson was read
by Joyce Moffat and comments on the
Scripture were given by Jean Campbell.
Mary Scott led in prayer and a piano
solo was played by Barbara Merrick.
A Christmas poem was read by Aud-
rey Gilmour. The minutes of the pre-
vious meeting were read by the sec-
retary, Helen Ford and the treasurer's
report was given by Barbara Merrick.
A letter was read from the former
leader, Mrs. Ross Hamilton and plans
were made for the Christmas meeting.
After the offering was received,
Mary Frances Currie played a piano
solo. Chapter nine of the study book
was read by Barbara Merrick, and
Sandra Smith read a poem. Marion
Chittiek led in prayer.
Following the meeting, names were
drawn for Christmas and pictures of
the Christmas Story were shown.
Lunch was served and the Benediction
repeated.

The Senior Women's Mission Circle
of the Baptist Church held their reg-
ular monthly meeting at the home
of Miss R. Lewis, on Friday evening
with a good attendance,
Thep resident, Mrs. J. Falconer, pre-
sided and opened the meeting by
singing the hymn "Draw Me Nearer,"
then led in prayer. The roll call was
answered with a verse of Scripture. A
chapter from the study book "Hud-
son Taylor's Secret" was read by Mrs.
Miles Cameron,
The devotional was in charge of
Miss Laura Collar, and the theme of
her inspiring message was "Love,"
1 Corinthians, chapter 1, 3. The
hymn "I'll go where you want me to
go" was sung.
The topic for the evening was on
"Bolivia." An article was read by Miss
Lewis. "The testimony of Arturo Ar-
ana," a manufacturer of Gods, who was saved and from that time he
decided to dedicate himself to the
Lord's service. Mrs. Coyle read an
article also on conditions in Bolivia.
A season of prayer was conducted
by several members of the circle. The
meeting closed by the singing of a
hymn, followed by a social hour.
Baptist Girls 'Organization
The regular meeting of the Baptist
Teen Age Girls was held on Monday
evening at the home of Frances Ait-
ken. The president, Mary Hotchkiss,
presided,
Esme Tucker opened the meeting
with prayer, which was followed by
several choruses, Alice Hayden read
the Scripture taken from John, chap-
ter one, Mary Stapleton favoured with
a beautiful solo entitled "The Love of
God," Frances then read a short story
"From Darkness Into Light." The
president conducted a Bible quiz, The
counsellor, Mrs. Frank Collar, read
chapter two of the study book, "Beaut-
iful Girlhood." The meeting closed
with the hymn "There Is Power In
the Blood," after which a dainty lunch
was served and a period of handwork
was enjoyed by all, The following of-
ficers were elected: president, Mary
Hotchkiss; vice-president, Betty Hen-
ry; secretary, Mary Stapleton; treas-
urer, Esme Tucker; pianist, Frances
Aitken; social convener, Alice -Hay-

The secretary read her report of the
last meeting and also the correspon-
dence, The general business of the
meeting was conducted, Misses Elda
Keith and Mary Rae favoured with a
lovely duet, "The Shepherd's Lullaby."
The treasurer's report was given and
the hymn "Oh Come All Ye Faithful,"
was sung. The various reports of the
secretaries for 1952 was then read,
which showed a most successful year
just ending. The offering was received
and Miss F. Wilson gave the Dedica-
tory Prayer, followed by a lovely piano
solo by Mrs. N. Pickell, which was
much enjoyed.
Mrs. N. L. Fry then gave the report
of the nominating committee, and the
officers for the coming year were in-
stalled by Rev. Alex Nimmo, The
meeting was dismissed with prayer
by Rev. Nimmo.

Elect Officers for 1953
The annual meeting of St. Paul's
Women's Auxiliary was held in the
church parlor on Thursday last. The
president, Mrs. R. E. Armitage, open-
ed the meeting with prayer. The
Scripture lesson was the Christmas
story from St. Luke's gospel, read by
Mrs. Frank Preston.
The secretary's annual report show-
ed a consistently good attendance at
the meetings. The study book "Look-
ing South," concerning Protestant
St. Andrew's W.M.S.
Installs Officers
The regular monthly meeting of the
W.M.S. of St. Andrew's Presbyterian
Church was held on Tuesday after-
noon at three o'clock, in the Sunday
School of the church, with a splendid
attendance. The president occupied
the chair and opened the meeting with
a Christmas verse. The meeting was
in charge of Mrs, Robert Mowbray
and Miss F. Wilson, and the theme
was based on Christmas.
A splendid report on the Mission
Band was given by Mrs. Geo, Fowler,

Mrs. Robert Mowbray favored with a
reading, "If Mary Had Known," by L.
M. Montgomery who was the wife of
a Presbyterian minister. This was also
in keeping with the Christmas season.

by Mrs. W. Hammond.
The guest spaker for the afternoon
was Mrs. (Rev.) John Pollock, who
