To Naval Post
Commodore Horatio Nelson Lay of
Ottawa, formerly of Walkerton, has
been appointed to the high post of
Assistant Chief of Naval Staff, and
will take over his new duties on
September 9th. He has been naval
member of the Canadian joint staff
and Canadian Naval Attache at
Washington. Commodore Lay is a
son of the late Mr, H. M. Lay, who
was for many years manager of the
local branch of the Canadian Baniii,
of Commerce, and he spent his earl',
life in the Bruce Capital. The Lay
family home is now in Barrie. News-
Record.
