mother, Mrs, T. Abraham,
Rev. Bailie continued his series of
pre-Easter sermons last Suriday when
he spoke on Peter's denial. He also
favored with a solo, "0 Sacred Head
now wounded".
Mr. W. A. Darling and Mrs. Elmer
Zinn received word recently of the
sudden death of their cousin, George
R. Johnston at Daytona Beach,
Florida.

Toronto, spent last Saturday with Mr.

Mr. and Mrs. Alex Marshall and

Fergus on Friday night,
Mrs, Neil McNeil spent Friday with
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lincoln.
Mr. and Mrs. Clark Renwick, Mr,
and Mrs. Ivan Haskins and Mr. and
Mrs. Lloyd Montgomery were in
charge of the euchre held in the hall
last Monday night. There were eight-
teen tables in play and the honors
went to Mrs. Ernie Merkley, Mrs.
Harvey Edgar, Mr, Justin Will, Mr.
Ernie Merkley and Mr. Leonard Har-
per,
Miss Marjorie Lobsinger of Mild-
may, spent the week-end with Mr.
anti Mrs. John Fitch and Dianne.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Breen and
Ethel, of Turnberry, visited on Sunday
with Mrs. A. Scott and Miss Bessie.
A local bonspiel was held in the
Arena on.Tuesday afternoon and ev-
ening with eight rinks taking part.
1st. prize went to a rink skipped by
Wm. Elliott, 2nd. to Clark Renwick's
foursome, 3rd, to Harry Mulvey's rink
and consolation to Jack Renwick's
rink,
A coloured moving picture of "Life
in a Leper Colony," will be held in the
Belmore United Church on Friday,
March 28th., at 8,30 p.m,
Miss Jean Elliott of London, spent
the week-end at her home here.
Little Robert McMillan of Listowel,
visited recently with Master James
McKague.
Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Johann and
David, of Teeswater, were guests on
Sunday of Mrs. F. Johann and Wil-
fred.
Prime Minister Louis 'St, Laurent
is Canada's 12th holder of that office.
The March meeting of the Women's
Institute was held in the Club room
of the Community Centre on Tuesday
last, with thirty ladies present. Mrs.
S, Cook presided. After the opening
exercises, the sec.-treas., read the min-
utes of the former meeting and gave
the financial report. These were re-
ceived as read.
Several items of business were dis-
cussed and voted upon. Ten dollars
was to be sent to the Salvation Army
Corps, Wingham, as a. donation krone
the Institute. Mrs. Leslie Bolt and
Mrs . Richard Procter, comprise a
committee to secure estimates on in-
stalling cupboards for Institute equip-
ment. It was also agreed upon to buy
an electric clock for the Club room.
Mrs. S. Cook and Mrs. Ken Wheeler
were appointed to purchase aa.me.
The' roll call, "Name a Weed and
Tell How to Eradicate It," brought a
good response. Mrs. Walter Scott gave
a very Interesting and outstanding
paper on "History of the Growth of
the Science of Agriculture," which
began many thousand years ago in
cave days, when all was forest. Lille
had several pictures, showing the
first used implements to the present
day. Agriculture experiments show
there has been more advance in the
last forty years than the previous two
thousand.
Elaine Bolt favoured with two
musical numbers, and they were much
enjoyed.
A talk on amateur painting was
given by Mrs. 0. Wade while Mrs. C.
Nethery exhibited several pieces of
their work, both pictures and en
china which proved very interesting.
Personals
Verna Wheeler, Montreal, Quebec,
visited for a few days last week with
relatives in the village.
Mrs, Annie Wray of .Woodrow,
Sask., called on old friends in the vii-
lage on Friday.
Mrs, Wilfred Pickell and :ion, of
Toronto, are visiting with her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Wheeler.
A sleet storm on Saturday night

Euchre Club
The 9th line, East Wawanosh, held
their weekly Euchre Club meeting at
the home of Mr, and Mrs, Bert
Thompson on Thursday evening, Nine
tables were played, The ladies high
prize went to Mrs. John Mason and
the low prize to Mrs, John McBurney.
The high men's prize to Mr. John
McBurney and the low prize to Mr.
Charlie Martin.
After lunch the meeting was (tailed
to order and Lewis Stonehouse read
and address to Mr. and Mrs. Roy Rob-
inson and Leonard. Mr. Bert Thomp-
son presented them with a parlor
table, Mr. Gordon Naylor, an electric
clock and Gerry Robinson, a novelty
table lamp for Leonard.

learned that you are leaving our
neighbourhood and we will miss you
greatly. We all regard you as good
neighbours, always ready and willing
to lend a hand in time of need. We
will also miss you at our parties.
As a slight token of our esteem, we

and this little novelty lamp for Leon-
ard which we think he will enjoy. We
have not the feeling of a "Farewell"
for you because as long as you reside
in Beigrave you are still one of our
Club.
