However, for a growing number of unemployed and low income families, providing even the necessities of life is becoming increasingly difficult. With this in mind, Melville Presby terian Church in Brussels has invited other local churches to help young people aged 12 and up to organize an evening of carrolling and collecting for the Huron Conntv Food Bank. Youths are invited to meet at the Melville Presbyterian Church in Brussels at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, December 9. They will be carolling in Brussels, Belgrave, Bluevale, Walton and surrounding areas in the hope that people will come out to listen to the Christmas Carols and contribute one or two items of food for donation. All non-perishable food is appre ciated, but items most in need include: baby formula, baby food, macaroni and cheese, peanut but ter, canned meats and soups, crackers, canned beans and vege tables, spaghetti and tomato sauce. Also appreciated would be toile tries such as soap, shampoo and toothpaste. Following the food drive, the carollers will be returning to Melville Presbyterian Church for pizza and refreshments. Young people interested in participating or those with questions about the food drive are asked to phone Reverend Carolyn McAvoy at 887- 9544.
