The Citizen, 1990-06-13, Page 25Obituaries ARNOLD CRAIG Arnold Craig of Auburn died suddenly at his home on Tuesday, June 5, at the age of 76. A retired trucker, Mr. Craig was born in West Wawanosh Township on June 2, 1914. His parents were the late James Thomas Craig and Sarah Ann Chamney. Mr. Craig was predeceased by his wife, the former Maude Hamil­ ton. He is survived by two broth­ ers, William Craig of Auburn and Melvin Craig of Bluevale, as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at the McCallum and Palla Funeral Home, Goderich, on Friday at 1:30, conducted by Rev. David Snihur of Knox United Church, Auburn, where Mr. Craig was a member. Interment followed in Colborne Cemetery. Pallbearers were Allan Craig, Brian Craig, Frank Workman, Larry Martin, Kevin Powell and Don Wallace. Floral tributes were carried by John Andrew and Ste­ wart Chamney. ARIE DUIZER Arie Duizer of Londesboro died in Huronview on June 4, 1990. He was 84 years of age. Mr. Duizer was born in Schelluinen, Holland. He married the formet Geertruida (Tri) Sleeuwenhoek who predeceased him in 1989. The couple farmed for many years in Hullett Township. Mr. Duizer was a member of desboro United Church. feft to mourn his passing are his children and their families: Janet and Joe Hunking of RR 1, Auburn; Tom and Marjorie Duizer, Londes­ boro; Gerrie and Wayne Kennedy, RR 1, Londesboro; and Audrey and Bruce Lyndon, Clinton. Mr. Duizer is also survived by his brother Herbert of Clinton and one brother and two sisters in Holland. He will be sadly missed by 19 grandchild­ ren and 10 great-grandchildren. Mr. Duizer was predeceased by three brothers and three sisters. Rev. David Snihur conducted funeral services at the Beattie-Fal­ coner Funeral Home, Tasker Cha­ pel at 2 p.m. on June 7. Acting as pallbearers were Clare Vincent, Lome Hunking, Gordon Alblas, Andy Sleeuwenhoek, Anton Sleeuwenhoek and John Duizer. Flower bearers were: Stephen Dui­ zer, Travis Lyndon, Larry Hunking and David Kennedy. Iterment took place at Ball’s Cemetery. DAVID H. MCKAY David H. McKay of Winthrop, died at Wingham and District Hospital on Wednesday, June 6, following a brief illness. He was in his 55th year. David was born in Grey Town­ ship on April 9, 1936, a son of Mrs. Emma McKay (formerly Krohn) of Wingham and the late George McKay. He received his elemen­ tary education in Grey Township and attended Listowel District Se­ condary School. When in Wing­ ham, he was employed by the town and prior to his death, he was employed by McKillop Township. He was a member of the Presbyter­ ian Church. Besides his mother, David is survived by his wife, the former Patricia Taylor, whom he married Sept. 27, 1985. He was the dear father of Heather and Rick Swan­ son of Wingham and Shawn and Karen McKay of Lucknow; step­ father of Paul and Peter, at home; brother of Charles and Joanne McKay of Wingham. Also surviv­ ing are four grandchildren. The late David McKay rested at The McBurney Funeral Home until Friday when funeral service was conducted at 1:30 by Rev. John P. Vaudry of Wingham and Rev. Bert McSpadden of Toronto. Final rest­ ing place is Wingham Cemetery. Pallbearers were Wayne Dol­ mage, Frank Hulley, Bud Preszca- tor, Ed Daer, Roil Zimmer and Doug Schroeder. Floral tributes were carried by Art Strong, Gordon Wilson and Harold Jardine. ELDON THOMPSON A 31-year-old Walton man pass­ ed away on Wednesday, June 6, 1990 at Clinton Public Hospital following a courageous fight against cancer. Eldon Thompson was born on August 31, 1958 in Kincardine. He was employed with Western Foun­ dry in Wingham. In the past few years he has been a dedicated and hard-working member of the Brus­ sels and Walton Trailblazers Snow­ mobile Club and often served as their representative to Bruce Regional. Mr. Thompson was the loving husband of the former Kathy Alton and the dear father of Terry, Jason and Charlene. He will be mourned also by his parents, Robert L. (Bert) and Isabel Thompson of Culross Township. Mr. Thompson is survived by his brothers: Jim of Edmonton; Rob of Teeswater; Ralph of Paisley, his sisters, Carol (Mrs. Jim) Bailey and Cheryl (Mrs. Barry) Burchill, both of Wingham THE CITIZEN, WEDNESDAY, JUNE 13, 1990. PAGE 25. and his mother Mrs. Madeline Alton of Wingham. He will be dearly missed by his grandparents Tom and Nina McDonald of Kin- lough and Mary Thompson of Chesley. A private family service was held Saturday at the MacPherson Funeral Chapel in Teeswater with Rev. William Baird officiating.
