All the work was done by Belgrave residents and in addition to all types of quilts there was a special area showing what can be done with odds and ends. WI to tour museum WMS hears story of Korean church The W.M.S. held its meeting at the home of Mrs. Garner Nicholson on Monday, June 4. She opened with the call to worship and the hymn, “Happy the Home” was sung. Mrs. Margaret Siertsema read from Mark I - 32-44. Mrs. Ivy Cloakey read a meditation, “He Touched Me”. Mrs. Mac Scott led in prayer. Minutes of the last meeting were read by Mrs. Mar­ garet Siertsema and treasurer’s report given by Mrs. Cloakey. The next meeting will be held July 30. The roll call was answered with a Bible verse containing a flower. Thirty-one sick and shut-in visits were recorded. A birthday card was signed for Mrs. Margaret Dunbar. Mrs. Nicholson gave a report on the meeting at South Kinloss. Mrs. Nicholson read a story on the Korean Church. Mrs. Siert­ sema read a poem, “The Lord Will Hear”. Mrs. Irene Schultz read “The Quiet Country” and Mrs. Hazel Dalrymple read the poem, “The Joys I found”. “O Spirit of the Living God” was sung. Mrs. Nicholson closed with prayer. Lunch was served by the hostess and a social time was enjoyed. Church history discussed at UCW The Evening Unit of the Bel­ grave U.C.W. met at the home of Mrs. George Michie Tuesday, June 5 with 21 ladies present. \ Mrs. Ross Higgins welcomed everyone and thanked Mrs. Michie for providing her home. Mrs. Ross Anderson conducted the worship service on the theme “Wind and Fire” assisted by Mrs. George Johnston. Mrs. Dorothy Logan and Mrs. Gordon Bosman gave an interest­ ing report on the Westminster Weekend which they attended. Mrs. Gordon Bosman showed a film on the 60th anniversary of Church Union and gave an interest­ ing history of the 65 years of the United Church Union. She also explained the United Church Crest. The September meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Sam Pletch. Lunch was served by Mrs. Jack Taylor and Mrs. George Procter. Belgrave Compiled by Mrs. Helen Stonehouse. Phone 887-9487 Open house held in honour of couple's 40th anniversary On Saturday, June 10, 1950, George McGee and Jessie Currie were married at the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Currie at RR 3, Wingham, Ontario. George’s parents were Mr. and Mrs. Leask McGee. Now, 40 years later, on June 10, 1990, their family held an open house in their honour at “McLee Farms”, RR 3, Wing­ ham where they have resided since their marriage. London man guest of honour at party A 60th birthday party was held in honour of Donald Campbell of London at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clare Van Camp.
