The mother goose was sitting on four eggs. It was a big nest. The nest is beside the old railroad tracks. The father was bigger than the mother. It was a long, hot walk but it was fun. They also saw a rabbit and a snake. They would like to go again “but take a hundred drinks’’ said Bonnie Stewart and Sabine Schroecker. GRADE ONE’S TRIP TO THE BUSH by Kathy Fraser On April27, the grade ones went to the bush near the Arch. They went in pairs with two grade 8 students and their teacher, Mrs. Battye. NASA invited teachers to apply for pack ets of tomato seeds which had been left in space for six years. Mrs. Little and Mrs. Hencher each received a packet of seeds and organized an experiment. On Tuesday, April 25, the grades 3 and 7 paired up for the exper iment using the tomato seeds from outer space. They are comparing them with regular tomato seeds. The students planted both kinds of seeds under the same conditions. The grades have to measure the amount of growth each week. The students from grades 5 and 2 are doing this as well. Thanks to: The grade 7, 5, 3, and 2 teachers for organizing this experiment.
