1=ST DEER STORY OP
WE SEASON
It is estimated that 175 deer fell
before the guns of hunters in Green-
ock Township before the season end-
ed. At least 75 of those shot, were
bagged during the first twenty-four
hours, The balance of the week was
not so successful, however, owing to
unfavourable weather and the in-
creased wariness of the deer.
Councillor Lobsinger of Walkerton,
Came within an ace of bagging the
biggest buck seen during the hunt,
It appears that Lobie was hunting
on Thursday in a section of the hin-
terland with which he was fairly fam-
iliar, and spotting a big buck on an
island deep in the swamp, he stalked
the animal until within shooting
