C. Taylor, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Kitchen, Mrs, A. Livingstone, Mrs. Fowler, Mrs. Stewart and Mrs. Marshall, all of To- ronto, were guests of Mr, and Mrs. Irving Toner on Sunday, Nov. 4th. A number from here attended the funeral in Wingham on Thursday afternoon of Mr. Nelson Nnderwood, Reeve of Turnberry. Reeve E. H. Strong was in Exeter On November 22nd an election will be held which will determine who will serve our Province for the next five years, I have been nominated as the candidate for the Progressive Conservatives, under the leadership of Premier Leslie Frost. SH ALL Mr. Wilmot Charles passed away in the Wingham General Hospital on 1 Saturday, November 10th in his 79th year, haying suffered a stroke the 1 week previous. He was born at Aurora the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Charles and went to the West when 20 years of age. He farm-I ed in Manitoba for 43 years return- ing east from Birch River in 1936. In 1898 he was united in marriage to Sarah Taylor, formerly of Mitchell, who survives. There are also five sons and two daughters: Walter, eon. 6, Howiek; Herbert, Norman, Louis and Roy, all of Wallace township. Mrs. Mervyn (Clara) Stephens, Lyle- ton, Man., and Mrs, Oscar (Agnes) Hill, Dinorwic, Ontario. One daugh- ter predeceased him. Funeral services were held from. the T. V. ,Edgar Fuuneral Home on Wednesday at 2.30 p.m. conducted by the Rev. G. D. Vogan. Pallbearers were John Cathers, Jim Douglas, Ben Maguire, Wm. Smith, Conrad Neahel, and Elmer Williamson. Interment was in Gorrie cemetery. W.I. D. and Mrs. Vogan were in ' London Thursday evening and Friday for the official opening of Huron College. Mr. Vogan also attended the annual meeting of the Huron College Alumni Association which met in con- junction with the opening of the new Huron College. Rev, Dr. A. H. O'Neil, Principal of Huron College and a former rector of the parish of Gorrie, Fordwich and Wroxeter, is to be con- gratulated on the completion of the College, a project for which he has worked very hard. Hasti.e were in Kitch- ener on Sunday afternoon to attend the funeral service for Mr Leo Jack- son of Kitchener who was killed in an accident there. Mr. Jackson worked on the construction of High- : way 87. He was in his 36th year and , leaves to mourn his passing his wife and three young sons. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Adams and Rosemary spent Sunday with Mr. end Mrs. Earl King, Mr, and Mrs. Leslie Harkness of McIntosh and Mr. and Mrs. Allister Green and Lynda of Wingham were 'Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Win.
