Surprise Party A surprise birthday party was held on Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Vie Shera, Moorefield for the former's faher Mr. Jim Shera who marked his 81st birthday on Wednes- day, July 25th. About 25 relatives and friends were in attendance. We would join in wishing Mr, Shera many happy returns of the day. He is very active for his years, working every day in his blaeksmith shop, Mr. and Mrs. C. O'Krafka and Tom; Mr. and Mrs. M. Stanley Johnston of' Thames- ford, who is well known in this district, having spent his youth here, occupied the pulpit on Sunday morn- ing, Mr. Johnston spoke of the many changes here in the past 42 years since he left to enter the ministry. His text was taken from Exodus 3:4 "God called unto him out of the midst of the hush and said 'Moses, Moses' and he said 'Here am I.'
