Members of the local Women's In-
stitute are planning a picnic to Gode-
rich on Friday, August 10th. Members
are asked to gather at the telephone
office at 1 o'clock sharp. Transporta-
tion will be provided. Members are
asked to provide a pot luck lunch.
Beverage will be provided by the
committee, The outing will include a
tour through the Huron Museum,

Roulce - Sanderson,
Knox Presbyterian Church, Harris-
ton, was the setting for a pretty
summer wedding en Saturday after-
noon when Elizabeth Jane Sanderson,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alex San-
derson, Harriston, became the bride
of Charles Austin Rouke, Harriston,
son of Charles. Rouke, Wiarton. The
Rev. A, W, J. McMullen officiated.
Miss Louise Beck played the wedding
music and Mrs. J. C, Dale was solo-
ist,
Entering the church with her
father, the bride was gowned in
white marquisette trimmed with lace
over taffeta, Her finger-tip veil was
caught to a lace head-dress and she
carried a cascade of red roses,
Mrs. William Kelly, sister of the
groom, was matron of honour, Miss
Eleanor Sanderson, sister of the bride,
bridesmaid, and Miss Mary Ruth
Sanderson. another sister, junior
bridesmaid. They wore gowns of
green, yellow and pink marquisette
over taffeta, respectively, with flower-
ed headbands. Their bouquets were
of blending roses and sweet peas.
James Burgess, Wiartan, was grooms-
Man. Ushers were john Sanderson
and Orville Martin.
Following the reception in the
church wheel room, the couple left
on a trip, the bride wearing a beige
linen suit with green accessories. Mr.
and Mrs. Charles Austin Rouke will
take up residence in Harriston,

White, visited with friends and rela-
tives here last week,
Friends here learned with interest
that Dr. W. A. and Mrs. Spence, Tor-
onto, are coining to make their home
in Brussels, where Dr, Spence will
open a dental practice. Mrs. Spence
was the former Alma Rann, of Wrox-
ker.
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Gibson, Hamil-
ton, are visiting with Misses Marion
and Elsie Gibson.

laying of the corner stone of Ford-
wich United Church on Sunday, At
the same time a new electric organ
was dedicated in memory of the boys
who have given their lives in the
last great war. More than 700 people
attended, Guest speaker was Rev.
Russell Horsburg, of Sudbury, a
home-town boy. Mr. Lorne Willits, of
Listowel, gave an organ recital at the
close of the evening service.
Miss Nancy Newton has been holi-
daying in Toronto.
Guests of Mrs. Victoria Brothers

Brothers of New Jersey, accompany-
ing them are Mr. and Mrs. N. Wor-
thington of Toronto, who are visiting
the latter's father, Mr. George Clarke.

former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robt.

Louis Blake Duff, Welland, spent
a few days this week with his sisters,
the Misses Mary and Ruby Duff and
Mrs. Aitken. Mr, 'Duff had recently
been released from the Welland Hos-
pital, where he had been a patient
for over a week following a motor
accident, Mrs. Duff, is still confined
to the hospital,
