Church Supper
A large number attended the annual
supper served in the Community Hall
by ladies of Trinity Anglican Church,
on. Thursday evening. Tables were
laden with ogood things to eat, The
play "Aunt Betsy Beats the Baud,'
was given by Winthrop United
Young People's Association, and very
well received, some of the characters
being particularly well taken. The

between acts.

wich. Mrs, Brown, president of the

half of both societies Mrs. Ashton
presented Mrs, Miner with a silver
tray, cream and sugar.
Minister Honored
On Monday evening members of the
Newbridge and Fordwich United.
Churches gathered in the church
basement at Fordwich to honor Rev.
Stewart and Mrs. Miner before their
departure for their new charge at
Florence. They were presented with
a table lamp, electric mixer and
purse of money while the girls were
given gold rings. Mr. and Mrs. Miner
expressed appreciation of the' many
kindnesses shown them during their
five years at Fordwich.

United Church Group Meets
The Young Adult Group of the
United Church met last Tuesday
evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Clarence McClenaghan. Mr, Clifford
Laidlaw presided for a Short worship
service and read the Scripture lesson.
Mrs, MeClengehan led hi prayer and
Mrs. M. Moore had charge of the
meditation period. Mr. Ivan Laidlaw
and Mr. Raymond 4Laidlaw had charge
of the recreation period and contests.
Lunch of strawberries and sand-
wiches was served and enjoyed by all.

A marriage of interest in this com-
munity was solemnized in Sacred
Heart Roman Catholic Church, Wal-
kerton, at 9 a.m., Monday, July 2nd.,
when Theresa A., daughter of Mrs.
John Schnurr of Walkerton and the
late John Schnurr, became the bride
of Mr. Myles V. McMillan of Kinloss,
son of Mr. and Mrs. John McMillan,
of Lucknow. The wedding breakfast
was served to the guests at the Leg-
ion Hall and the reception was held
later at the home of the bride's
mother. The many friends of the
groom in this district, extend con-
gratulations to the happy couple, and
welcome the bride to this community.

Mr. and Mrs. Will McClenaghan
motored last week from their' home
at Rock Creek, near Cleveland,
Ohio, to spend the week-end with his
