Tangling in the Big Twelve loop
here last Tuesday night, the Cros-
sett Mercurys blanked the Southamp-
ton Fishermen 9-0. Guy Sparrow, on
the mound for the locals, was in rare
form as he struck out 18 and had 24
assists. Gateman for the Fishermen
struck out five and gave ,up fourteen
hits.
For Wingham Westlake, Groves
and Sparrow each collected two hits
apiece, the first two marking up
doubles.
Wingham tallied two in the fourth
to open the scoring and added two in
both the sixth and seventh and three

KINCARDINE FRIDAY
Continuing their run of wins the
Wingham Crossett Mereurys edged
the Kincardine nine 6-4 Friday night
in the Lakeshore town. A double loss
was suffered by Kincardine as the
team will be minus the services of
their star catcher, Clare Walsh, for
an indefinite period. Walsh sustained
an ankle injury in the first innings
of the game.
The Mercurys grabbed an early
lead slamming out three singles,
which were good for three runs. The
locals added another run in the 4th
and two in the 5th to command a
substantial lead before the home
squad retaliated with three in the
6th, Gardner and Fulford clouted trip-
les in the evening's play.
On the mound, Al Sullivan and Guy
Sparrow kept a hot pace with Sulli-
van striking out eleven and Sparrow
ten,

sons, and two daughters, Joseph,
of Wingham, Lloyd and Robert of
East Wawanosh; Archie of Morris;
Mrs, William (Elsie) Hazlitt of Tor-
onto, Miss Jane Montgomery, Lon-
don, A brother, Robert of Wroxeter,
and three sisters also survive, Mrs.
David L. Weir, Wingham; Mrs. Mar-

Smith, New Westminster, B, C. Her
husband predeceased her in 1925.
Remains rested at the home of her

The bride, given in marriage by her
father, wore a gown of diamond sat-
in, designed with tight bodice, with
nylon yoke, and embossed skirt falling
into a slight train. An heirloom lace
Juliet cap held her chapel veil of
French illusion and she carried a
cascade of American Beauty Roses.
Mrs, Leslie Blyth was matron of
honor for her sister, and Miss Shirley
Gilmour and Miss Leila VanPotter
were bridesmaids. They wore identi-
cal gowns of embossed nylon over
white satin, fashioned with very
skirts, the matron of honor in lilac
and the bridesmaids in green and blue
respectively. They wore matching
headdresses and each carried a white
prayer hook topped with a white or-
chid. Flower girl Pamela Kilty wore
pale blue nylon and carried a basket
of spring flowers.
Donald Vogan was best man for his
brother and Robert Watson, brother
of the bride and' Leslie Blyth were
ushers.
Receiving guests at the Seven
Dwarfs Inn, Mrs. Watson, mother of
the bride, wore a dress of blue-grey
mist nylon over taffeta with black
and pink accessories and a corsage of
Pinocchio roses. Mrs. Vogan, mother
of the groom, wore navy sheer with
black accessories and a corsage of
Pinocchio roses.
Mr. and Mrs. Vogan will reside in
Gorrie, following a honeym000n in
Montreal and New York, For travell-
ing, the bride chose a black French
faille suit with mauve accessories arid
an orchid corsage.
The groom, a graduate of Univer-
ity of Western Ontario and Huron
College, is rector of the parish of
Gorrie, Fordwieh and Wroxeter.

High noon, Saturday, June 16, at

wedding of Norma Grace, eldest
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Athol
Bruce, of East Wawanosh, and Des-
mond Arthur Gurnett, son of Mrs.

solemnized.
Before an arch of evergreen, bank-
ed with pink and white peonies, the
double-ring ceremony was perform-
ed by Rev. W, I. Fulton of Knox
Presbyterians Church, BelgraVe, as-
sisted by Rev, C. L. Harding Of
Clinton Air School.
To the strains of Lohengrins wed-
ding march, played by Mrs, Art,
Scott, the bride entered on the arm
of her father. She wore a street
length dress of white embroidered net
over white satin and a small white
hat. Her flowers were a corsage of
dream roses.
The bride`e attendants, Misses Lil-
lian and Reta Bruce, sisters of the
bride, were gowned in green and
orchid brocaded organdie respectively
and wore corsages of roses and car-
nations.
Mr. Win, Whiting of Clinton Air
School attended the groom, Follow-
ing the ceremony and reception a
buffet Puncheon was served to twen-
ty-five guests by girl '"friends of the
bride. Amid showers of confetti and
good wishes, the happy couple left on
their honeymoon for points in North-
ern Ontario, the bride's going away

marriage, one at Mr. R. Campbell's,
Wingham, and one at the home of her
parents,
The happy couple left on a motor
trip to London and Niagara Falls
and other Eastern points, On their re-
turn they will reside in East Wawa-

Bosman—Cook
The United Church, Belgrave, was
the scene of a pretty early summer
wedding at noon on Saturday, when
Muriel Elaine, daughter . of Mr. and
Mrs. George E. Cook, Morris Town-
ship, became the bride of Mr. John
Henry Bosman, son of Mr, and Mrs.
Chan Bosman of the same township.
Rev. W. J. Moores officiated for the
ceremony and the wedding music was
played by Miss Mildred Cook, sister
of the bride.
The bride was attractively gowned
in bridal satin with lily-point sleeves.
The nylon marquisette yoke with
cape effect was edged with rench
ruching. Her headdress of orange
blossoms held her floor-length veil
and she carried red roses.
Miss Joan Eirydgcs, of Belgrave, as
bridesmaid, was gowned in lilac taf-
feta with nylon•marquisette yoke and
Victorian skirt. Her flowers were
yellow roses.
Mr. Donald MacLean of Bluevale,
was groomsman.
Following the 'ceremony a reception
was held at the •home of the bride's
parents, when relatives and friends
from Belgrave, Bluevale and Dutton
extended their good wishes to the
young couple.
For their wedding trip to Leaming-
ton and other points in Couthern
Ontario, the bride donned a yellow
nylon dress dotted with white and ac-
cented with white accessories. They
will reside on the groom's farm in
Morris Township.
