Len O'Reilly, a farrier of the CIlePr,
stow district whose land 1s on the
edge of the grennocit swamp, had an
exciting, experience last week, and
one which not only convinced him
that there are bears in the hig!'0Wanio
land but also that he is the fastest
sprinter in this neck of the woods, it
seems that Len on seeing some of his
cattle running frantically out of the
woods In a state of alarm, thinking
that a dog or possibly a woir was at
their heels, went to investigate, and
came face to face with ,two large
bears, As his bat rose upwards to
the length of his hair the ruralite did
a sudden right-about-face and left
his cattle far In the rear in his dash
for safety, his feet pounding the earth
with the rapidity of an electric drill
as he sped by them. Needless to say
he broke all records, in covering tle
half mile from the bush to his home,
With all speed he rounded up three
hunters with high-powered rifles, but
