CHILDREN PLANT TREES IN HUSS History was made in Kinloss Twp., north west of Whitechurch, Wednes- day as some 100 senior grade students comprising nine schools staged a tree planting bee. The children planted the 5000 pine trees in record time and after short addresses by visiting of- ficials ended the day with a rousing ball game. The reforestation project is spon- sored by the Bruce County Council in the interest of Conservation educa- tion and prizes are awarded by the council to schools competing. Site of 'Wednesday's bee was land purchased by the County from Archie McKinnon, situated on the west half of lot 22, on concession 6. This section of land is one of four farms purchased in Kinloss by the County and forms part of the Bruce County Forest of 303 acres. Officials attending the days, activ- ities were J. C. Jackson, Zone Fores- ter for Grey and Bruce. Assistants, S. R. Hamilton and Ernie Danes, Robert Sloan, chairman of the Bruce County Tree Conservation Mission. Public School Inspector, J. M. Game of South Bruce, supervised the outing and Dan McKinnon, an adjacent land owner, played host to the children, Free chocolate milk was supplied by the County.
