Reidt to read the story at the May
meeting. Gilberts. Howes read the
story for April, "The Wild Ducks" as
taken from the study book "Where
the Carp Banners Fly," The hymn
"Jesus Bids Us Shine" and the re-
peating of the Mizpah benediction
brought an interesting meeting to a
close. Leaders, Miss Thelma Denny
and Miss Gilberta, Howes, arranged
the meeting,
Women's Missionary Society
President Mrs, U. E. Cronhielm
was in charge of the April meeting of
the Women's Missionary Society, and
was assisted in the worship service
by Mrs. Allen Munro, Mrs. R, R. Hun-
ter, Mrs. Frank Sanderson, Mrs. A. J.
Sanderson and Mrs. Jim Doig. The
theme used was "Recruiting for Full
Time Service in the Church," Mrs.
Vern. Denny, Temperance secretary,
read a timely article on that subject.
Mrs. D. S. MacNaughton was in
charge of the final chapter of the
study book, "The Church Re-Enters
Japan through Re-inforcements,"
Mrs. Jim Doig was at the organ,
Plans were made to send a bale over-
seas and members of the congrega-
tion are asked to contribute new or
good used clothing, to be left in the
church schoolroom. Cash donations to
cover shipping charges will also be
welcome. A quilt will also be made
and members were invited to a quilt_
ing on Tuesday, April 24th„ at 1.30
o'clock. The roll call was answered
by naming a woman missionary and
her station. Mrs. Cronhielm and Mrs.
Munro were named delegates to the
Presbyterial meeting to be held in
Exeter later in the month. Mrs. J.
Douglas paid tribute to the memory
of one of the life members, the late
Mrs. George Allen, and presented a
gift of money contributed by three
friends and sent by Mrs. Allen's dau-
ghter, Mrs. MacFarland of Winnipeg.
The meeting closed with the hymn
"Just as I Am," and prayer by the
president.
Marjory Moffatt..Refreshments were
served and a few games of bingo en-
joyed. The special, a bread box, t:ooltie
tin and dust pan, was won by Nil's.

District Governor Visits Sarnia
District Governor Gordon Hargrave
of the Howick Lions Club paid his
official visit to the Sarnia Club on
Thursday last. He attended a banquet
and gave an address. Accompanying
Mr, Hargrave were Past President
Howard Wylie and Lion Allen Munro.

speaker at the May meeting of the
Wroxeter Women's Institute to be
held in the Masonic club rooms on

Sixteen tables were in play when
the Wroxeter Women's Institute held
their final progressive euchre and
crokinole party of the season in the
Masonic club rooms. In charge of ar-
rangements were Mrs. J. H. Wylie

Lean, Mrs. Reg. Newton and Mrs, D.
S. MacNaughton. Mrs. Alex Wright
won the first prize for ladies, Mrs,
Allen Munro, second. Fred Double 11
dee and Clarke Renwick won honors'
for men. Mrs. J. N. Allen held the
lucky tally, Merwyn Grainger the
lucky coffee cup, both having the
date 13. Special game prizes were won
by Mrs. Wm. Maxwell and Ed. Lam-

who makes her home with her sister,

Mass., hap fallen and broken her hip,
and will be confined to hospital for
some time,
Herbert Dustow's gas lantern had
not been working properly and Orval
attempted to fix it. An explosion oc-
curred and he suffered some very
painful burns on his arms.
Mr, and Mrs, Wilfred Walker and
baby son, of Eelgraye, called on Mrs.
Fred Johann and Wilfred, and Mr,
and Mrs, Elmer Jeffray last. Thurs_

Her many friends will be pleased to
hear that Mrs. Walter Renwick, who
is still confined to a wheel chair, was
able to go for a little drive last Sun-
day afternoon and visit with Mr. and
Mrs. Clark Renwick.

Y.P.S. At tucknow
The Presbyterian Y.P.S. was invited
to Lucknovv, on Monday night of last
week to spend a social evening with
the. Dungannon and Lucknow Y.P.S.
Sixteen were able to go. A devotional
period was enjoyed first. Kenneth
Dickson read the Scripture lesson,
and Miss Gladys Chin, of Lucknow,
had charge of the topic. Six girls
from Dungannon sang "Sweet Hour
of Prayer." Bruce Darling gave a
violin selection, accompanied on the
piano by Miss Lillian Darling. A few
other musical numbers were enjoyed,
some hymns were sung, and the re-
mainder of the evening was spent in
games. The Lucknow Y.P.S. served a
delicious lunch at the close, Nicholson will take up residence on Mrs. Earl McNee has been under

After many weeks of rehearsing,
the Young People's Union have set
the date for their play, "Grandpa's
Twin Sister." The play is a three act
comedy with ten in the caste. It will
be presented in the town hall on
Friday, April 27th. It speaks well for
the past success of this group when
already they have been invited to

A qiuet wedding took place at St.
Mary's KC. Church, Formosa, at 9
a.m. on Saturday, when Betty Viola,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs, Nelson
Hunitin of Belniore, became the bride
of Mr, Eugene Kennedy, son of Mr,
and Mrs. Stanley Kennedy of Kit-
chener, The ceremony was performed
by Rev. 3. Fischer.
The bride wore a navy blue suit
with navy and white acceaSorles and
carried the groom's gift, a white
prayer-book, topped with red roses
and fern from which fell white satin
streamers. The bridesmaid, Mrs,
Jerome Kennedy, wore a gray suit
with black accessories and carried
pink roses. Jerome Kennedy was his
brother's best man,
The reception was held at the
home of the bride's parents, which
was decorated with pink and white
streamers and spring flowers. A. wed-
ding dinner was served to twenty-four
guests by Mrs, Carl Douglas, Mrs.
John Fitch aid Mrs. Robert Sadler.
The bride's mother wore black
sheer with a corsage of red roses and
the groom's mother wore royal blue
with a corsage of 'yellow roses.
On leaving for their wedding trip,
the bride donned a pink whipcord
shortie coat with navy accessories
and a corsage of Better Time roses.
On their return the happy couple will
reside on the groom's farm on the
12th of Culross.

Michigan, last week attending the
funeral of her uncle.

Women's Guild
The April meeting or the Women's
Guild, St. James' Anglican Church,
was held in the church basement on
Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. George
Griffith presided and the meeting
opened with repeating of the Lord's
prayer, Mrs. Millward read from the
Forward "Forgive as Ye Would Be
Forgiven." The travelling basket a
monthly feature was filled with a
wide variety of articles which found
ready sale. Plans were made to meet
in the Church to complete the paint- j
ing of the basement, which project
has been undertaken by the women
of the dongregation, and also to sew
the now drapes for the schoolroom.'
After the wont period, lunch was
served. Meeting was brought to a
