The report ef Mrs. Alorrey,
tal superintendent, was presented by
Miss Lamherm4.
OvQrcrowdo.1 conditions still pre-
vail in every department and the hos-
pital is makine an effort to care for
the sick and aged, unable to be cared
for elsewhere. Gastric clinics are held
the first Monday of each month
whereby patients are examined by
X-ray specialists. Chest clinics, attend-
ed by Dr. Beattie of Beck Memorial
Sanitarium, are held. five times a year
for the examination of doubtful T. B.
patients, A walking blood donor ser-
vice has been established under the
Wingham Lions Club, Two hundred
men have had their blood tested and
classified. This has been an invaluable
service in many instances. Mrs. Mor-
rey also said that the addition to the
nurses' residence is practically com-
pleted and they hope to have a formal
opening in the near future.
The hospital auxiliary is a public
spirited, non-denominational organiza-
tion working through the hospital for
the benefit of the sick in Wingham
and vicinity. To this end, they ask
the co-operation of all women in the
community. The fee is 50c a year and
the meetings are held the first Friday
of each month in the Council Chamber
cLINT0N RADARs
.talking up their 6V1:410 ,1 straLlit
win the Stainton Spitfires emerged
victorious here Suturdity night defeat-
ing the Clinton Radar sextette 1a-10.
The game could he recorded as pro-
bably one of the best since the instal-
lation of arlifieial ice. With each team
playing wide open hockey, goals were
a dime a dozen, with only seconds be-
tween the timing cif some of the coun-
ters, Stacked up against one of the
best teams in the loop, the Spitfires
never relaxed their vigilance front the
drop of the puck and took the win
scoring five, in the first, two in the
second and banging in eight in the
final stanza.
Wingham took an early lead in the
first period when Roy Duberry scored
on a two way passing play from
Templeman and Westlake. Fifteen
seconds later on a break-away Renard
beat Purola to the draw scoring on a
sizzler to the short side of the net to
even the count. Four minutes later
Crewson scored Q11 a pass front Eng-
lish and Stainton to put the Spitfires
one up. Seconds later Crewson again
bulged the twine on a pass from Ted
English to give the locals a 3-1 lead
and to which they gradually added,
Clinton Radar pressing hard in the
second came within striking distance
on goals by Benard and Wingfield
with the period ending 7-6.
A barrage of eight goals in the
final frame gave the Spitfires the de-
ciding edge, and fattened their scor-
ing averages, In this session Clinton
added four with Wingfield tallying
his third of the night and Godley his
second. For Lockhart in the Clinton
Radar nets for the first time, the bar-
rage of rubber shot at him would give
hint plenty of experience for future
games. Purola looked good for the
Spitfires between the pipes but seem-
ed to have trouble controlling the
long shots, which on several occasions
narrowly missed the Ovine. The Spit-
fires first line of Crewson Stainton
and English had a field clay garnering
sixteen points, with Crewson account-
ing for five goals on the night's play.
Ten penalties were handed out with
Lockridge and Noonan receiving ma-
jors for fighting, which really never
materialized and could have gone by
the books for a minor penalty.
