S. S. No. 2, Turnberry, are holding
their annual Christmas Tree and en-
tertainment on Wednesday of this
week, December 14th. Christmas
cards with personal invitations were
cleverly made by the pupils and. feat-
ured Santa Claus and a holly wreath,
Miss Helen Walker is teacher. Every-

St. James Junior W.A.
David Coley presided over the wor-
ship service of the Junior W.A. held
in St. James basement„Tuesday. Carol
Millwarcl presented the minutes. Paul
Higgins read the story. Following the
worship service the children worked
on pin cushions and match scratchers
for Christmas presents. Leaders in
charge were, Mrs. Mary Archer, Mrs.
R. Evans, Mrs, E. Millward and Mrs.
J. C. Coley.
Women's Institute
Mrs. Allen Munro opened her home
on Wednesday afternoon for the De-
cember meeting of Wroxeter Women's
Institute. Airs. Lyle Brothers was in
charge of the Motto, "Heap More
Wood, the wind is chill, We'll keep
our Merry Christmas Still. Mrs. Bro-
thers gave a word picture of the ideal
Christmas, where the family are gath-
ered in the home and urged the keep-
ing of Christmas in the spirit of the
Christ child. Mrs. Garfield Gibson
gave an interesting review of current
events including The new drug for the,
prevention of colds. D. I), T. losing
its effect on mosquitos. The Story of
the writing of the favourite song,
"Bluebird on Your Windowsill," and
an amusing item called Driving Men-
agerie. Mrs. Vern Denny told the
Story of the Origin of Christmas
Carols, ;Misses Thelma Denny and
Gilberta Howes sang the old favorite,
"Silent Night, Holy Night." ."dl joined
in singing Christmas Carols with
Mrs. Brothers at the piano, Mrs. Durst
reported 165 lbs. of clothing shipped
to Fort Stewart. The Roll Call, A

Miss Jean Moffat, Toronto Normal
School, spent the past week . practice
teaching in Wroxeter Junior Room.
Miss Margaret Wearying also of Tor-
onto Normal was at Lane's School.
Rose Mary, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Harvey Adams, is a patient in
Wingham General Hospital, having
bad an operation for appendicitis on
Friday last. Rose Mary's many
friends wish for her a speedy recovery.
Congratulations to Mr. George :In-
glis and his rink of curlers from Bel-
more, who were successful in winning
top honours at the Bonsniel held last
week in Wingham. Besides the Wes-
tern Foundry Trophy, each won a
beautiful Gruen Watch.
Mr. Wm. Salter visited friends in
