KNOW WINGHAM
No skirl of pipes, no pibrochs wild
and sweet were heard upon the winter
air, but surely the men of Brigadoon.
haunted Wingliam this past week,
Men , :merry men or mad; men
reed-cheeked. and happy, eyed; men in
bright tams and Glengarry bonnets;
young men and old men; men joking,
laughing and muttering; men brand-
ishing brqoms and whistling "Annie
Laurie"; local men and strange men
going up and down our streets all the
week and everywhere the word "Bon-
spiel'' dropping into .conversations.
Aye, it was a fine Bonspiel, and
now that the visiting curlers have
"Gang awa" the local lads look a bit
sad, a bit solemn, as they gaze out
from under staid hombourgs and sober
stetsons, wishing no doubt that their
visitor were still here and hoping that
unlike the men of Brigadoon they will
return for an annual visit and not just
once in a hundred years.
