Santa Claus Parade—Sat., Nov. 26—in Wingham
CURLING COMMENT
The Locke Ice Company's men are
irmck in town completing the installa-
tion of the freezing unit in the local
curling rink. This is a matter of turn-
ing on the power—cooling the brine,
and later in the week, making ice.
During the past two weeks, Norm
RintouI, Wm. Haney, Ron Rae and
Bill Tiffin with the help of Harry
Brown, Lloyd Casemore, Don Na-
smith, Dtmc. McDougall, Gord God-
kin, Bill Bain, Gond McKay, Hartley
Currie, Jim Gurney have made good
progress getting the club room into an
almost finished state. The plate glass
window 36 feet long is in, the ply-
wood siding is on, the partitions are
closed in, Jim Murray is staining and
varnishing the woodwork and Percy
Clark has the furnace installed. The

Mrs. Henry Timm of Listowel is
visiting her daughter, Mrs, Lloyd Fel-
When Malcolm Black was driving
the tractor to his home in the village
he was struck by a tar, driven by
Mongo McFarlane, who was blinded
by the lights of ontoming trucks and
cars. Mae was thrown to the pave-
ment and was rendered unconscious.
Dr. W. A. Crawford WAS SOOD at the
scene of the accident and had him
taken to his home where it was found
that be was suffering from head in-
juries and bruises,
Mr. and Mrs. J, S. Adair and Master
Smith, Art Irwin, Murray Rae, Bill
except the last $900.00 and at the pre-
sent time there are 90 paid up mem-
berships, with several new prospects
for membership coming in.. Certainly
the Wingham Curlers are going to
have a club room and ,an artificial ice
plant that will be a centre of good
fun and fellowship for themselves that
will also provide skating for younger
children, Moreover among all the
small towns of Canada, Wingham
alone has the distinction of artificial
curling ice. It is art' outstanding asset
to the town and community.

payers of the village the plans and
specifications for the installation and
upkeep of hydro on the streets. It
was the unanimous decision to proceed,.
at once and it is quite possible that
the lights will be turned on before the
New Year.
The Bluevale Library will now be
open two afternoon each week, Tues-
day and Saturday from 2 p.m. until 5.
A special meeting of Huron-Mait-
land Presbytery of the Presbyterian
Church in Canada was held in Knox
Church, Bluevale, on Monday after-
noon, November 14th. The Moder-
ator, Rev, Geo, Milne of Brussels pre,
sided and called on Rev. Leland C.
Jorgensen, who offereq prayer. The
resign'ation of Rev. Leland Jorgensen,
as minister of the congregations of
Bluevale and 13elmore was dealt with
and was accented by the Presbytery.
Words of appreciation were expressed
by members of both congregkiOns,
also ministers of the Presbytery for
the services he had rendered during
his three and bile half years in this
sphere of labor. The retignation to
take died on December 19th, Rev.
Alexander Nitrimo, Wingham, was ap.
pointed Interim Moderator of the
tharge, key, George Milne Of 13ttla-
kis was named Interim Moderator
for the charge of Blyth and Auburn
to replace Mr. Jorgensen. Rev. Doug,
Stewart, Kincardine, Interim Modera-
tor for Ashfield and Ripley present-
ed a Call to Rev. J. R. MacDonald of
River John, Nova Scotia. Representa-
tives from both congregations spoke n.
in support of the Call, which was ap-
proved by the Presbytery. The Mod-
erator pronounced the 'benediction.
